Hey guys, not sure if this will be well received here or not, but other clubs boards appreciated me posting this there so I thought I'd do the same for you guys. Mods, please feel free to move this to the appropriate place as you see fit :)

There's a new start-up AFL talk show which this week goes right through the Blues. Link is here:

One of the guys explains why he thinks you are a genuine flag threat. What, as a supporter group, are your expectations this year?

WTF? No Yarran in the best 25 on the list, taking the piss surely, or a complete oversight.

Other than that, a good summary of the club.

Skip to 20.35 in the broadcast to get to the start of the Blues wrap if you don't have time to watch the whole show.

Pretty poor effort for mine. No Yarran and no Bell but Curnow gets in twice?

As for the analysis it is supposed that our forwardline is our weakness. Nonsense. We have not lost games because we could not kick a winning score. We HAVE lost games because we could not prevent the other side from kicking a bigger score. I would be perfectly happy to lose Waite for the year and rely on Eddie, Walker, Garlett, the mids and something out of our young talls and ruckmen - just so long as we have our starting 6 defenders playing as many games together as Sydney had last year.

Secondly, much as I like the divine hammer, and whilst Kreuzer will rightly play every week he is fit, Warnock should play as our regular starting centre bounce ruckman.

What's wrong with Bell not being named?

He's far from a guaranteed starter.

Sorry, I was expressing my opinion. Needless to say you are not obliged to pay it any heed. As to your rebuttal that he is "far from a guaranteed starter", this misses the point. The idea is to pick the best 22. It is possible that you think Bell is far from a guaranteed starter and that he is in the best 22. For a time I had to live with the fact that Thornton was a likely starter and I did not see him as being in the best 22. If, as is likely, you intend to suggest that Bell is not in the best 22 I think you seriously underestimate the exceptional skill set he brings to the footy field. I am not aware of any other midfielder with his height, weight and endurance although I think John Kennedy comes close. Sure he could do with a bit of polish but I saw nothing wrong with his mark and goal against the tiges. Nor his hit on Hayes and goal against the saints. I would have him in our starting midfield with Judd and Murphy to provide them with the bullocking protection he can give. And I rate Carrots.

Holy moly.

OK, how's this? I don't think Bell is in our best 22, nor do I think he's a guaranteed starter.

Showed some excellent signs in the back half of 2012 but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. On no planet, not even earth, is he a better option than Carrazzo in the middle of the ground.

Careful now - if you post you disagree with this in any way, I'll go off my head. What is this, a forum?!?!

Well I absolutely agree with the following:
1. You don't think Bell is in our best 22, nor (obviously enough) do you think he's a guaranteed starter.

2. Bell showed some excellent signs in the back half of 2012. I simply add that it was pretty difficult for him to show excellent signs in the first half of 2012 due to him not playing in the seniors until the back half what with being injured and all. Which kinda makes his back half performance all the more impressive, if that is not in any way disagreeable with your post.

3. You think he is not a better option than Carrazzo in the middle of the ground.

4. As your final question is suspiciously rhetorical and in deference to your stated concern for the on-going attachment of your head (for which concern I am hearty agreement) I make no response for fear it might constitute disagreement in any way.
