Don’t be scared Mark, you did post the thread. My two cents:i'm too scared to choose. You can discuss whatever you like...

Actually I like the jumper
Yeah, what’s going on?Why is Melbourne NOT wearing an indigenous jumper??

I wish we had some male Aboriginal players
Yeah, what’s going on?
I’ve already nominated their strip as the best of a poor bunch.
Why not showcase it on Friday Night Footy?

It looks like they have chosen to wear it next week instead of this week. Next week's game is a home game for the Demons (also on a Friday night), though it's played at Alice Springs (as things stand). Perhaps they just wanted to wear it in a game where spectators are allowed?:Yeah, what’s going on?

That would explain it but why not wear the indigenous jumper in both rounds? I think it detracts from the concept of the round if both teams aren't appearing to participate in indigenous round. I agree with both of you, it does seem strange to not wear it this week! It will be interesting to see if any other clubs do the same. You are allowed to wear the jumper on more than one occasion.
This is the mandated indigenous round. Even the NRL game has indigenous jumpers, so to ignore the round dedicated to the indigenous world is pretty disgusting.
John Ralph just explained that Melbourne aren't wearing their indigenous jumpet because it clashes with the Bulldogs. I can't see any clash myselfYou are allowed to wear the jumper on more than one occasion.

Pffftttt…So it was known a week ago they wouldn't be wearing it tonight: Melbourne unveils 2021 AFL Indigenous guernsey (melbournefc.com.au)

Would it be a step in the right direction to have our indigenous jumper be our regular away jumper/ interstate jumper? Or would it be seen as tacky? You are allowed to wear the jumper on more than one occasion.
