I am thinking about moving up to either Brisbane or GC, and I'm looking for information on Unis in the two areas. I am looking at mainly computer technician courses, so a school that is well equipped technically would be helpful. Any links to sites would also be helpful. (I’m to lazy to look meself :) )

Thanks

Gold Coast:
Griffith University. (Where I attend) http://www.gu.edu.au/home/content.html

Bond University. (Private uni. Just buy your way in there)

Brisbane:

University of Queensland (seen as the most prestigous QLD uni) www.uq.edu.au

QUT (Queensland university of technology) http://www.qut.edu.au/

Griffith University (campuses in Brissy as well as Gold Coast)

Hope that helps.

I'm at QUT, Brisbane. I don't know about it's computer courses, but on the whole it is a great uni I feel. I was previously studying at UQ, and I found that to be hard to settle-in and some courses are a bit old-fashioned and irrelevant to modern society.

QUT generally tries to make it's courses practical and relevant, which I assume would be a good thing if you are looking at computer courses.

I have a friend studying at QUT.It seems to be uptodate and has modern courses. They have a huge range of IT courses.

Another friend is in year 3of an IT course at UQ, he is a computer nut, and he hated the 1st year of the course.Said it was totally irrelivant to what the course was supposed to be about.

I suppose its a personal thing.

Most likely at the end of year 12, depends on arrangements with family at home, and also relatives in QLD.
