Well to be fair a lot of the injuries are not related directly to conditioning. Kness, breaks, shoulders, foot stress injuries, just bad luck mostly.Who the hell is our conditioning staff? The amount of injuries we have copped has to be looked at, there is something wrong here.

Agreed.Yes agree - no doubt
But speaking to physios and other medicos at other clubs a knee can we'll be down to conditioning and training programs also.
And u seem to elminitar foot stress issues from being related to conditioning - not so
I've said enough about the red incident and how it was avoidable.
But even look at Stevens - who was brought back too early from abdominal strain. Poor decision that cost him another couple of weeks.
We have also had jj wood macrae Minson Morris and a couple of vfL players doing hammies. Boyd and suckling just this week with Achilles too.
Understand a lot been unlucky - but all injuries outside of impact injuries need investigation to determine whether we are putting too much stress on the legs of our players. David young our surgeon intimated as much in recent interviews

Can you - or anyone - provide a link to this please? I thought I read a post to that effect and would like to know exactly what he said. No offence, JJS, but I'd like to hear/read the source statement verbatim rather than get a paraphrase.Understand a lot been unlucky - but all injuries outside of impact injuries need investigation to determine whether we are putting too much stress on the legs of our players. Most comments on injury management and prevention are just lay opinion which we are all entitled to, but David Young is someone we should really pay attention to, especially if he's prepared to make a public comment on it.
Thanks. If anyone has the link ...Triple m interview
When asked if some were avoidable he referred to the way we played having a direct relationship to the outcome.
Paraphrasing I know.
But he isn't the only surgeon and high level physio I've discussed it with

I know we have a connection to Melbourne Uni - I wonder if the club could work with them to do a study on our injuries. It might help to identify areas that cause stress on our players to help with our shot at the premiership in 17-18
Thoughts?

Agreed.
I think the hard aggressive football is too much for the human body. Starting to think maybe the game plan plays a part in this?
Unfortunately, academic research doesn't work like that. Need far more lead time to get meaningful results. If they invest in a study now, they might start to get something useful by end of 18. Probably need an external review from consultants with medical expertise to help in the short term.
Be interesting to see the injuries vs size of the body and how quick they move etc. The type of injuriesI have been thinking the same thing, especially on young bodies.
Mark Stevens reporting Libba may need surgery..
**** off
