Good to see Treloar tracking better, last week he was listed as 6-9 weeks, this week 4-6.
6-9 or 4-6 I’m not sure it really matters in the context of this season. Surely he couldn't be risked in a final before proving he can string multiple games together. It’s an impossible timeline, unfortunately.

Understand that but if they had no intention of risking him wouldn't they just list it as season?

All goes well he is back round 24. If we make finals he could then play in the 2s though week of finals bye. If he goes well could be available for first final

Honestly I don’t think I’d be risking him at all. The risk is too high in a big final.

Sub? Now that’s something I could see the club entertaining.

Cognillo, saying Botos suggested by Nat Fyffe helped with his soft tissue problem wonder if it worth ago with ADZ.

"I tried everything traditional physiotherapy and had lots of scans on my spine, my pelvis, hamstrings – just everything – but to no avail. I was seeing specialists for help, trying to solve the source of the nerve pain. That didn't work. Throughout the period, Matty Cameron was just as frustrated as me trying to find answers. We had so many late-night texts to each other," Coniglio told AFL.com.au after his return game.

"Footy works in funny ways sometimes. Nat cold messaged me and said to potentially look at a botox procedure. Telling your wife you're having a botox injection in your backside is funny.

I'm reading it as though Treloar is past his calf issue but needs to load up the training - which is a great result.

I wouldn't be ticking off the return until he can put in several gut running efforts at training. It did definitely feel as though he was holding back in fear of reigniting the injury in the small sample of games he played this season.

Positive news but I wouldn’t be ticking off the return until he can get through a couple of VFL games

It's a toughy isn't it. I wonder if you can replicate the proper gut running required for AFL level either on the training track or at VFL level.

I’m not sure you can. On top of the gut running there’s the tackling, getting tackled, jumping, kicking etc - many things that contribute to fatigue. What we do know is loading under fatigue is one of the major contributing factors to soft tissue injury. This includes both in game fatigue and post match fatigue which affects recovery time and ability to backup the following week.

We just can’t afford to repeat the same mistakes as last time.

I’d be gearing Treloar up for a possible finals run as a specialist substitute. I think that’s a role that both the fitness staff should be conditioning him for.

There’s no evidence this season that his body can stand up in a high intensity game for long periods.

Really shows the turn around we've had from the start of the year to now - our bill of health is really damn good for this time of year.

Such a shame about Cody.

Ads comes straight in. If he breaks down, he breaks down
I like to approach this from an opposition perspective.

What would the opposition coach be happy with? I think they'd get quite excited knowing that we were starting Treloar. Such a huge risk and it's not worth it.

The small advantage we'd have of him getting through a full game would be enormously outweighed by the risk of him breaking down.

The high risk of starting Ads increases the opposition's chances of winning.

He simply doesn't have the same burst or explosiveness that he previously had and we shouldn't be pretending we'll get 2024 output from him.
