In Massie Stevens Jericho

out Hentschel Doughty Torney

Smith misses out and I think Stevens deserves another chance.

Massie a perfect swap for Torney

Interesting to see whehter Jericho will play in defence or not.

He better show something in this match, otherwise I'd be happy to put my foot in a boot and kick him out the club at season's end. He's lucky we're down a defender, because his form hasn't been too good in the SANFL.

His player reports have been positive. Cant' be easy playing for Norwood.

Hope he plays out the season as I rate him as a player but if the club want to get rid of him, it would improve his trade value.

The Player Reports are written by the club. Did you ever see one that wasn't glowing? Scott Stevens can't play at AFL level.

And no, he doesn't deserve another chance, he is a DUD!

This is the first and only time I will ever agree with you - I suggest you take a screenshot ;)

I have to admit that yoyo Stevens was a surprise selection - I wish we'd never seen him on what he's shown so far.

Ian Perrie must look at him and think WTF!!!

Both duds but Perrie tries harder.

Off memory Perrie played a very good game against the Lions at the Gabba last year, as our only key forward.

Will he ever wear the tri-colours again??

So me kicking up a stink after we traded for him was THE right thing to do. Remember being shouted down back then :(

Not by me. I wanted the young lad Tim Schmidt that Sydney got thanks to the swap of the second round picks.

Stevens is only just a player.

No real surprises but personally I would have preferred to play Smith before Stevens

I am getting concerned. I am agreeing with you again.

I would have thought Perrie was more deserving a chance under the new regime, particularly given his form over the past three weeks.

it would suggest that Craig has seen enough of him to state that he will not be in the mix for 2005, or that when he does get his chance there will be fire coming out every orofice.

I thought Ladhams may also have got a guernsey. He too apears ot be running out of time.

On other concern. We need to settle all of our young players in a team for at least 3 weeks on end. The Walls has been in the team one week out the other. This yo yo like existence makes it difficult for you to show your best for either the Crows or West Adelaide.

Interesting that the Mass got the call. His form for Norwood has not set the world on fire either.

One thing for sure Gallagher is certainly getting the chance to show his wares. At this stage his form would see at best his name being mentioned as a doubtful starter in 2005.

Perrie has been destroyed this year. I would have played him this week as we are playing the most physical defence in the league and at least Sarge has the frame to cope with it. I fear for some of our younger guys - just imagine Mal Michael crashing through Nathan Bock or similar.

I thought its an obvious choice. IF there is such a thing as perfect replacement for Torney then Massie would be it
I agree - I'm not sure why there is such negativity about Massie. Gives his best every time he puts the jumper on.

his form has bough negativity. He's lucky Torney is injured. Because his performances in the SANFL, haven't really warranted a selection. If he wants to keep his spot next season, he better produce something.

And he was dropped because?....:o

1. Massie is the type of player who always plays better at AFL level than he does in SANFL. He has ALWAYS played better with the Crows that he has with Norwood. In the past his form hardly warranted a recall but when he got back in he was generally in our best players.

2. He had 2 bad games in a row and for some reason Ayres stopped using him properly. Prior to that Essendon game he would have been in out top 6 in the best anf fairest.

What has Massie done to you??????:p Don't tell me he is another Burton:o

In the semi, he took 8 marks (the most on the ground by anyone) and had 13 touches.

In Round 8 last year, he took 7 marks, had 15 touches, kicked 2.1 and had 7 inside 50s.

He's presented against a very tough defence the last two times we've played them.

Whilst that seems to be true on the surface I am not so sure.

I think that Ian may be learning a fair bit this year of where his attitude needs to be.

In the last month his performances at SANFL level have been very good and yet he has not been rewarded

I think the idea may be to keep him on the list next year and say now its make or break. They may be teaching him a lesson in the SANFL, and asking him to become consistent, weak in and weak out

It can go either of two ways. He may fade from view forever or he may come back next year as a stronger person and a consistent AFL performer.

I hope the later as he has a lot of potential in my view.

Not quite. He took 8 Marks as a FB who was being used excessively as a "chip" option in the backline. He didn't play as a forward for one minute. He played FB on Lynch and got absolutely smashed. & goals or something like that.

The second one you are correct on. He played one fo his best games for the club and was the only tall option in our forward line. He took both Leppa and Micheal to cleaners and both were benched. That was a great game from Sarge.

I would like us to play Kenny at CHF and Scott Stevens as a CHB tommorrow.

*sigh* if he was such a great player he'd play well for both clubs, whether dropped of not. He is in a form slump. In my eyes; I believe selection should be granted on form, however he is in luck that we are down a defender this week, and needs to perform.

Massie is a form slump. Why should we reward him with selection? I personally think we should gamble him at the end of the season, what posibilities could we gain from him going to another club?

And no Stiff, noone can be Burton. Now c'mon, we all know I don't bag the Birdman that much. I just dont think he's that great. :o

1. He is not a great player BUT he is a VERY good player IMHO and he adds a lot of toughness to our side. Plenty of higher profile players play better fro the Crows than they do at SANFL. Massie is not alone here. Bassett, Welsh, Burton, Begley, and even Roo play better withthe Crows that they did with their respective SANFL sides. Massie's form has been solid without being spectacular. We have to cut him some slack. He is playing for a crap side and is being used differently than he would be with the Crows. He role with the Redlegs lately has been more defensive rather than as a rebounding defender. I am willing to put my head on the shopping block and say that he will be one of our best players against the Lions ;)

2. As I said his firm with Redlegs has been reasonable and SANFL form is NOT the only measure of whether the player gets selected or not. He is playing different roles for Norwood and has been doing that role well. He can hardly be a ball magnet if he is stuckin BP. I am sure he would be on tradeable list but only if the right deal is offered. He is a good player and if we trade him, good luck to him, if we don't then we have a good player on our list who will put his body on the line every time he pulls on the jumper.
