Here's what I think:

Ins: J Carr, Headland, Thornton.
Outs: Gilmore, Schammer, McPharlin

Josh and Des come back from suspension and Thornton comes back from injury possibly.

Gilmore has been alright, so give him a rest. So too Schammer. McPharlin has played on Fevola and Williams in the last 2 weeks and given away 9 goals. Speaks for itself.

Discuss.

In: Carr, Headland

Out: Gilmore, Peake

Peake hasn't done enough to earn his spot in the team and needs more time in the WAFL to improve his decision making and kicking skills.

Gilmore hasnt played too bad, but there are better players than him in the team. If not Gilmore than maybe Webster. Its hard to choose. We need McPharlin in the backline, he plays so much better there.

Hopefully Johnson isnt injured.

Mcpharlin? No way.
You could make a case for the other two though

In: Dessie, JCarr
Out: Cook?, Gilmore

I think Cook will only lose his place because of his lack of pace, especially against the Crows. Although we probably will try to shut down their run and Cook's ability in the pack will maybe let him keep his spot.

Gilmore doesn't seem to have enough of a presence on the field!

Pretty good situation to be in really, whoever gets excluded to make way for Josh and Des will be unlucky to miss!

I noticed that Burton had 20 possies, 5 marks and kicked 2.2 against us earlier this year and is a big out for Adelaide! :)

Edit: I also think that Thornton should not be included as the backline looks pretty settled right now and we don't want to risk disturbing them with a reshuffle right now. Scotty should maybe have to really fight to get a spot, anyone know how he did in the WAFL over the weekend?

Drop McPharlin? Have you gone nuts?? Has been excellent every week, except on the weekened... but he couldn't have done much.

In: Headland, J Carr
Out: Cook, Gilmore

Webster will be our rock come finals time me thinks!:thumbsu:

McPharlin was excellent. Any ball that wasn't sent with precision to a lead was marked by him.

How many goals he had kicked on him was reflective of the fact that Hawthorn only had 1 avenue to goal. And left Williams a lot of room to work with.

A very similar situation with Carlton too.

McPharlin has been excellent, i can't wait for him to lineup against Gehrig. It'll be a whole different game considering we'll have a FB with enough height and strength to match him.

Though looking forward to this week first.

INS: Headland, Carr
OUTS: Gilmore, Cook

You can't drop Schammer, he's been keeping the ball in our forward 50. His pressure has been 2nd to none. Perhaps only Farmer. He'll be essential against Adelaide.

If not Cook then Webster, though i think its dangerous dropping Webster because he has such a penetrating and accurate kick. COuld be useful if Adelaide try and bottle our forwards up.

I agree about Webster, his accurate delivery into the 50 is something the Dockers have been missing and makes us look a lot more dangerous when going forward!

Webster is a big game player, I think we need him in the finals! He needs the support of the coaching staff leading up! He'll play a big part!

WAFL players who played well according to the west:

Polak and Browne

Out:
Haz (sat behind their dugout and he looked in pain each time he came off and he spent a fair time on the bench, get him back when he's over the injury), JLo (if he is not up to save him the plane trip as he'll get three weeks at home before the finals!), Peake (poor execution give him time in WAFL. He will be a great player for us), McManus (not doing enough to hold his spot)
In:
J Carr, Polak, Headland, Duffield

Can't wait to see them give Adelaide a real run for their money this week!!

Cheersandbeers332docker:thumbsu::)

If Hase is 100% he'll get a gig but if he's not then he's out.

Happy or Cook could go out.
Though we love his run Peake isn't really setting the world alight, but I do remember his goal against PA at AAMI last year so I'd still be tempted to play him.

With the dilemma we find ourselves in trying to fit Bogan and Dessie in the side imagine the headache trying to fit in Grover, Thornton, Haddrill and Drum as well!!

I can't see Cook missing out after his efforts in the past 2 weeks. Some of those hits and marks he was doing were sensational! He didn't set a foot wrong! He physically intimidated key Hawthorn players and absolutely smashed them in the middle. He wont be dropped!

In: Carr & Headland.
Out: Gilmore & Schammer or Peake all three continue to waste the ball & very rarely hit targets.
Cook & Webster must be played as they give us much needed hardness around & over the ball.

I didn't see Schammer miss many (any) targets on the weekend. A couple of pinpoint passes into F50 which lead to goals, kicked a goal himself and looked pretty good before coming off injured.

I don't think anyone deserves to be dropped, but Josh and Dessie are walk up starts, so they'll come in for Happy and Peake/Cook, depending on how Hase pulls up.

In any case, any omissions will be unlucky.

Gilmore will make way for Des, fairly certain of that.

Does anyone think Macca is in the mix to be dropped? He played well at AAMI earlier this year against Port, but his recent form has been down. Next in line could be Hase, didn't look 100% IMO. Can't see Cannonball Cook getting dropped on his recent bone-crunching form.

out-haze(rest)longy(rest)gilmore
in-carr,headland,polak
Gilmore needs a bit of grovers intensity.imo he has the size and agility to make a mark if hes good enough.polak to back up sandy and to rest longy for saints and weagles.i think peake got a corky early in the game

It's not his intensity that bothers me, it's the fact that any kick into the 50 is 100% guaranteed to be a high bomb.

If JLo is able to play then play him. We need to win this game to improve our chances of getting to 6+ on the ladder.

I also think there are a lot of fixed thoughts about players here. Scahmmer wasn't bad with his delivery on the weekend. Parkers was far worse (not suggesting he's dropped). Thought that Gilmore has played better than I thought during his stint too.

For me, Gilmore and Peake in for Josh and Des. If Hasleby is recovering slowly, leave him out for Peake.

So, what do you think exactly?

For mine:

OUT: Hasleby Gilmore
IN: J.Carr Headland

like for like. If Haze was fit, probably omit Cook. Schammer is playing small forward. Choice between Webster and Gilmore on the HFF, Webster everytime.
