Topley is a gun. Always gets around 100 wickets for me and never gets picked my England. He is possible the worst batsmen in the game tho lol

Agreed, although he managed to hit 22 in a one-dayer in my save, batting at number 11.

At the moment he's hit about 4 or 5 consecutive ducks in my save.

I always get out in the 40s smh.

And yeah that form thing is annoying.. ive had to debut about 10 different middle order batsman over 2 years. Everyone comes in with an avg of 60. Then end up barely making 30 runs in an innings. So annoying.

The match engine this year is terrible. Ive been playing ICC since ICC06, so i consider myself pretty good at it, but I cant win a single ODI or T20.

Having the form issue with Warner ATM

IMG_0459.PNG Wanted to share a result from one of my other saves.

Playing as Essex against Gloucestershire, they set us 300 to win on the final day after declaring halfway through the first session.

Intially I was going for the draw and then pushed for the win after having a good middle session, despite a mini collapse.

But, eventually Essex managed to win thanks to a 73 run 9th wicket partnership from my number 8 batsman Graham Napier who scored 44* and number 10 batsman David Masters who scored 33*.

If you have the 2015 version, do the Ashes series that they had on that game. they have 05,06,10 and a couple of others.
Running the latest version. Went to do 2005 but there's no Simon Jones in the game.

Not that it comes as a great shock to anyone, but Lara is an absolute GOD in this game. Just made 181 off 230 odd balls in the first innings of a test and 217 off 240 in the second innings. You can set him to super aggressive and he just doesn't go out.

This was against an attack of Miller, Lillee, Warne and McGrath.

Is there anything better than a massive choke job from the poms?

ODI match. Renshaw had outscored Warner at the fall of the first wicket.

Man.. How?!

I've never got over 300 in an odi.

And Renshaw in an odi?! Lmaooo he never scores over a strike rate of 50 for me.

Ive always gone, one batsman at 5 bars, the other at 3 until theyre set. Then leave them both on 4-5bars till the 40th over then I slog.

But in this edition I'm always 7 down by the 40th over and lose all my wickets for fk all in the final 10 overs smh

It's a tri series, I had Renshaw in for the coaching, but it was match 8, I was in the finals and someone (I think Smith) needed a rest, so Renshaw went in.

It was an absolutely flat deck with perfect light, so both were on 5 bars till set, up to 6 once set, 7 bars from over 30 and 8 bars from over 40.

I find the best way to play ODI's is to go super aggressive with the batting, otherwise they score at 3-4 an over and you'll still lose wickets. I set my opening batsmen at 2-3 bars from max aggression from the start and only pull back if I lose a couple of early wickets. More often than not, they'll get off to a flyer and you'll be able to put up regular 280+ scores

This has been the best way for literally forever

Depends on conditions. On a cloudy day or on a crappy pitch, I find it's best to start a bit more conservative and gradually ramp it up.

Thanks guys! Gonna start a new save I reckon.

Not sure if I should go an English save where I dont really know the players. Or if I should go an Aussie state save.

The save I'm doing now is only internationals. I find that by building a player in the county/state system, you'll eventually lose them to the national squad. If you're good at developing players, you'll find yourself getting frustrated at state/county level.

I've been following the actual Aussie mentality (or so it seems) and using ODI/T20/international test tours as a training ground for young players.

True, I had a WA save. I was losing 8-10 players per Aussie series. I was losing my shit.

I think I'll just continue with my international save.

Same happens in Vic. I think they just do it to whichever state you play as.

Anyone had any luck with Renshaw and Handscomb since they updated the game? They updated squads so I assumed they would update some ratings and pump theirs up since they've had success in tests recently but Handscomb averaged around 20 for me and Renshaw 25 after a fair amount of time
This is why the game is desperate for some sort of editor

I remember on planetcricket we used to have an editor for the older versions.

Wish it was still possible..
When was the latest update tho?

Handscomb is useless for me. Renshaw averages about 35 which is poor but we have no other consistent openers.

They updated about 2 weeks ago and added all the big bash players and updated all squads, guess they didn't update any ratings tho :(
