Watching this absolute turnip carry on today got me thinking.

This bloke was supposed to be a star. Had a couple of ok years at Port, moved to the Hawks to suck up the Vic limelight and has done precisely zippo.

Milking a free kick that had already been paid, then popping up and playing to the crowd on the way to kicking a goal in a loss for a 4-8 team is the encapsulation of this bloke's career.

Hawks would do well to piss him off from the club. He's not going to be part of their next flag and they don't need his toxic pretty boy act infecting their promising youth.

He's filled in a Burgoyne shaped hole for the young indigenous kids as a real cultural leader for the club.

He hasn't lived up to his billing as a player at Hawthorn but don't spout such bullshit that you have NFI about.

keen to see kanes reaction to it given his previous comments. his head will explode.

its one thing to be arrogant when your team is up there. imagine being that much of an arrogant flog when your team has been and still is a bottom 4-6 lock for 3-4 years.

and he doesnt even have immature dickheadedness of jack divvyvan as an excuse

Seems like a decent, thoughtful person and has done some courageous and important things by speaking out about his experiences with racism.

But as a player, he clearly peaked at age 22 or so at Port.

Gary Rohan says HOLD MY F'N BEER!!

You could put his entire Port side, especially Ken Hinkley, as one of the biggest disappointments of the last decade.

Reckon Hawthorn didn't use his strengths early on in his iteration at the Hawks. He was a seriously dangerous small forward who could mark and crumb, pretty much the total package. But they threw him into the midfield or had him play high half forward or even at times off half back, a place where many clubs would be more comfortable seeing him. He's had an impressive career and he's a long way from finished as well, plenty of time left. Just reckon he'd have provided more value to the Hawks as a goalkicking dangerman than getting possies on and around the wings and having less talented players as forwards.
