It is all about potential compared to output. No one, no one ever suggested Rohan was or could be one of the best players in the competition.
There are quite a few Geelong and Sydney forum posts severely overrating him over the last 10 years

burton & pick 15 for flog disappointment wingard and spend the last 3 years in the bottom 4-6. sydney get franklin for free, made 2 grand finals, rebuilt and are making a good charge again. Franklin likely to play on and keep playing decent footy.I think signing franklin for 10 for no flag is bigger.
His best footy at Hawthorn has been as a genuine mid with occasional turns at half forward. When he has played deeper he has struggled to make an impactReckon Hawthorn didn't use his strengths early on in his iteration at the Hawks. He was a seriously dangerous small forward who could mark and crumb, pretty much the total package. But they threw him into the midfield or had him play high half forward or even at times off half back, a place where many clubs would be more comfortable seeing him. He's had an impressive career and he's a long way from finished as well, plenty of time left. Just reckon he'd have provided more value to the Hawks as a goalkicking dangerman than getting possies on and around the wings and having less talented players as forwards.
You're a Sydney fan. Can you not think of a fwd/mid currently playing for Sydney who has had a far more disappointing career?Watching this absolute turnip carry on today got me thinking.
This bloke was supposed to be a star. Had a couple of ok years at Port, moved to the Hawks to suck up the Vic limelight and has done precisely zippo.
Milking a free kick that had already been paid, then popping up and playing to the crowd on the way to kicking a goal in a loss for a 4-8 team is the encapsulation of this bloke's career.
Hawks would do well to piss him off from the club. He's not going to be part of their next flag and they don't need his toxic pretty boy act infecting their promising youth.
He hasn't lived up to his billing as a player at Hawthorn but don't spout such bullshit that you have NFI about.
Has finished 3rd and 5th(despite missing 6 games) in our B&F the last two seasons.Dual All Australian, BnF, 200 + games, you’d take that
Up there with Jaidyn Stephenson.
Ridiculous natural talent, but mentally just lazy and doesn't care about footy as much as others.
Hmmm nah Chad tries pretty hard most (90%) of the time. He almost tries too hard.
It’s just clear that he isn’t the same player he was at 20 years old. He’s lost that burst of speed and at times looks like he’s running with lead boots on. Still a mercurial player but.
Did he lose his speed at 23?
Yeah prob a step or two since then. He’s not slow or anything, just unable to really put the jets on any more
Well he is no Adam Schneider that's for sure lolYes. Unless someone else is. In which case, no.
Had you said Zac Dawson was the biggest disappointment of the modern AFL era, I would of sent Jim Cornette to unleash a nasty verbal tirade with that southern accent lolIs Chad Wingard the biggest disappointment of the modern era?
Gary Rohan says HOLD MY F'N BEER!!
Do you reckon he hits the gym as hard as others?

He’s also an absolute gem off the field.
Old man yells at cloud.Says a lot more about the turnip farm that finished 6th to 22nd than it says about Chad.
Now you're just taking the piss.
Didn't Kern tell him a few home truths after the season in 2018 and he didn't like it so wanted to leave? To my understanding he wasn't that focused on football so lacked the desire to evolve his game to the next level.
