Could you repost these stats on the main AFL board? It would be interesting to see what general fans have to say about this. I would do it myself, but you did the work of finding them
You're very welcome to use them Top_4, it's just a C&P from the Pro Stats 'highlights' of Tucky's 2008. I'm in the middle of a cyclone here so there's a fair chance I won't get back to discuss them any further if I did post on the main board.
Absolutely emp, and often with a contested mark. Now he's got more support and doesn't have to spend more time on the ball than is humanly possible because our other options weren't mature and fit enough, he'll be doing it more often too.

so lets get this straight. In this modern era of stats driven recognition, game plans etc etc, what this thread is talking about is that Tuck is invisible to the rest of the comp correct?

Maybe that's not at all fasionable, and I'm just out of the times...
for Tucky it would be top of the range gear.

I just noticed on the main board someone comparing the best father/son combinations to play afl/vfl. On the list was the combination Michael and Travis Tuck. This is just another example of how Shane Tuck gets absolutely no recognition from the football community (aside from the loyal tiger fans). When people discuss our midfield he is often forgotten about but i believe he is in our top 2 midfielders. When will the outside world realise how good this guy really is and when will he get the recognition he deserves?
Don't worry - every Hawthorn supporter notices him. He is a gun ... damn shame he didn't show it with us after breaking his leg.
We are all very sad that he is not with us, but happy to see him doing so well.

BTW dude, tell the ****ers to build a trench and send all that water south FFS. Heard on the blower that Cairns got in one day more than melbourne got for the last year....and here we have the brainless in parliament, wanting to pay squllions to turn salt water into driniking water....we are ****ed arent we? we elect these clowns to make desicions...when they have NFI

i guess the tigers were following a similar formula during the preceding decade and a half before the last couple of years. You know the deal? why is he in the team? he is a dud...answer: Because there aint anyone else to take his place..turn up for training, run hard on the track, do all the things that are asked, and you too will be able to have an 100+ game plus AFL career at the tigers.

He regularly sneaks away from his opponent to drift forward to create another offensive threat as can be seen here...
I was there across the ground half forward flank.
Wasn't many Tigers that game.
It was all the more fun when we won.

It gets even madder up here unfortunately Cogga. In numerous small towns (i.e. less than 100 people) they've spent millions building dams with catchments full of cattle shit, then millions on water treatment plants which can't handle water that filthy, then ongoing money for expert advice and the labour to run the plants, all to provide 'clean water' (which starts filthy and is 'cleaned' with shitloads of alum, chlorine etc.).
For a fraction of the same expenditure they could have installed massive water tanks at every house to cover all water usage (quite a few people already have all their own water this way), and the residents would have genuinely clean water which isn't laden with chemicals.
It doesn't get much dumber than that IMO, though desal plants and converting sewerage back into drinking water are right up there.
