Fantastic? Hardly any memberable marks and goals. No stand out team. Six very poor teams, one sided games.
It's been a stinker.

Also if you take 8 seconds to think about it logically - we dont WANT a standout team ahead of the pack. Going into a finals series being able to justify a flag for all 8 teams if what we want EVERY season. We dont want a $3 or better favourite ever.

You've lost the plot

How many great marks and great games have there been?

That might be a Vic thing. I generally listen to 882 so a bit out of the loop there, and they've never said the game is boring. Actually, they were over the moon that there was another week of footy in WA.

Out of interest, which commentators have the running joke over there?
I'm mostly on ABC radio, not always the most exciting, but no ads

Maybe they are allowed to be more honest about the spectacle at hand than the commercial channels!

That was most recently the Carlton Essendon game, which in their summary reached no great heights in terms of quality, had nothing riding on it, and they were just trying to find something to talk about, coming up with funny/obscure stats

The Age real footy pod is the other one I listen to, and they have been scathing about footy this year, the fixturing particularly, and the drudgery of some rounds which were just thrashing after thrashing,

Well you see his problem, he went to Richmond v Geelong.

North v Crows was surprisingly pretty good
Sunday saved it.

  • Dogs season on the line
    - Lions secure top 4 spot
  • Freo & GWS book home finals in close games

Simply put 2023 was peak AFL.
Just out of covid we were drulling coming to the game after 2 years of lockdown.
2023 also was best established then 2022.
2023 was everything AFL and alike was at full tilt.
All hands on deck if you can say.
All systems go in 2023.
2024 dropped off.
2025 past its peak.
2025 would be AFL as an organisation its worst.
I think AFL needs to restart again as an operation organisation and rebuild.
Needs an over haul.
Game itself ok been some good games this year.
But good games can happen in any comp tho.
But the AFL i think theres been better times.
A need to over haul AFL

Suitable finish to the STAND / 666’s greatest season on record

SHocker

Channel 9 laughing all the way to the bank.

Amazing that the AFL and channel 7 let soccer become the top rating sport in Australia by letting minority interests rule the game
Interesting that the Premier League was the highest rating show on all free-to-air in Australia on Saturday night with a 1,137,000 viewers, a massive 855,000 greater than the NRL post-match the previous week. This is especially impressive given the numbers were primarily in the key 16-39 y.o. demographic.

I'm not sure what "minority interests" is all about - this is purely on the AFL abandoning FTA for the cash grab, prompting Channel 7 to switch their limited access to live football from Saturday to Thursday nights.

Not sure where you heard that but it’s not right.

Yep the EPL is dominating, Ch9 share price flying

Ch7 and Kayo,,,??

EPL is a decent product, nearly as many goals as are scored in the AFL these days over 90 min, and nobody having to STAND
