Trigg is a dead man walking and it's only a matter of time before he goes.

Nothing will save him now and as WW just said, the move to the Adelaide Oval is just wall paper over the ever growing cracks in his leadership.

Trigg is not a dead man walking as he has majority support from members and corporates to continue

Sorry didn't see the results of that survey .....can you post a link ? .....or is that just a personal opinion

Maybe the not an AGM where they timed it to be loaded with retired people not likely to rock the boat.

Corporates don't like rocking the boat either unless there is a profit in it for them.

Jee' didn't see that one coming . Of course its a personal opinion; and of course there is no survey - therefore you cant say i'm right or wrong thus you can't definitively say the comment of "Trigg is a dead man walking" is correct.

I'll throw it back to you : prove me wrong - give me the evidence that Trigg is a dead man walking

Even Chapman on 5AA last week said the issue had the potential to derail the club if all the anti Trigg talk didn't sunside soon.

IIRC i think Chapman said that hopefully getting wins on the board & the new Adelaide Oval could see the matter subside

ok, so you essentially agree with me that there is no evidence yet that Trigg is a "dead man walking"

Subside or paper over the cracks?

Wins do help and a better experiance at AO will help but our CEO was on the nose as far as the eye could see before $kurt became a problem to many of our supporters.

Yes, but if you listen to Trigg, Rendell had multiple stuff ups (with the last one being the only one to go public) and wasn't fired for that one incident, which is then used as justification for Trigg keeping his job (he only stuffed up once).
Rendell's other stuff-ups can't be of any great significance, given we never heard about them.

There has been only 1 stuff up, which has caused AFC huge damage in many ways & this had nothing to do with Rendell... so he was sacked for way, way, way smaller stuff up(s).

You said yourself there's no right or wrong answer ......so useless question

I have just stated my opinions on the matter ......my personal opinions ;)

Pretty sure Trigg has come out and said vlad had nothing to do with it?
If he did, Trigg wasn't being honest.

Vlad's threats were a major reason in Rendell being sacked from AFC

and the fact he had recently been re-signed on a new 2 year contract ......club must have been very worried about those stuff ups

Of course they were ......Trigg was angling for an AFL role

Tell him he is dreaming ;)

There will be a constant reminder with the players picked up with our lost picks.

Perhaps now Trigg has cooked his AFL chances, he may actually show some balls & stand up to the AFL!

If anything Kane it would be the actions of Trigg himself that could make the matter subside ......but if he thanks managing the Adelaide Oval transition is that magic mushroom then he's kidding himself

It's what he does for the club that stands him apart from the average footy administrator, that will change supporter opinions .......ATM he's a hermit and only talks about AO & the fixture .....Whoopty Doo & no wonder the whole saga won't go away

Fact is Trigg is simply a good administrator .......he is not a visionary or innovative leader

I have said b4 ........Trigg only looks inwardly within Sth Aust .......proud of a membership that was the same as when the club was formed.

Refuses to push the club profile outside Sth Aust ........for eaxample "the club for all Sth Australians" work inside SA ......but does not outside SA
Why FFS limit your profile to one state ......and b4 people say we are .....it's really a pittance of an effort IMHO

Won't surprise if once Adelaide Oval is transitioned ......that Trigg will walk (or pushed)

Either that or make Trigg the administrator & get a more dynamic media prescence ......is Smart capable of being that person & is this what he is being groomed for ....to take a more high profile role in the club

ATM we have too many of management of the same personality type

Surely the Chairman has a key role here too...

The best outcome for AFC is Trigg walks, as then we can truly move on from Tippett-gate.

It looks like to me that the majority of the people that want Trigg out for the "BIG" mistake he made, are defending Rendell for the "small" racial remark he made.
A little bit two faced, I would think. Unless it's ok to make racist comments but it is bad to stuff up when trying to hold on to a player that everybody wanted kept.

The Chairman role IMO is less of an issue re Tippet-gate

Time & wins can make the affair subside ........Trigg might be a good administrator, but ATM it's about the clubs profile & how it's viewed by Supporters, AFL Community & Sponsors.
If it starts hurting revenue then the club will act

Gary Pert is a lot like Trigg ......has a very low profile to McGuire, so it can work

BUT you need someone raising the profile of the club .....and as i said this has to be outside of SA as well

Is that Chapman, Trigg, or Smart ......Mmmm?

Don't think so ....in Rendells case he is acknowledged as being a winner as a recruiter & responsible for the current list ......he should have been afforded the benefit of any doubt, & sent on a 6 month holiday.

In Triggs case what success stories over-ride his misdemeanor?

The point is that Tippett-gate / Trigg failure had far more harmful ramifications for AFC than Rendell did for a private conversation brought into the public by a serial liar. Surely you can see this.

My point was that I think the Chairman more than the CEO should be responsible for the club's profile. Certainly need to be one or the other. At the moment we have neither. Trigg can't given he is doing his best to lie low. Chapman acts more like a CEO than a Chairman.

Port's dynamic duo are way ahead of ours, giving Port a better profile, which is frustrating as an AFC supporter.

Couldn't agree more
