for a team built around forward pressure, I don't see why we are too fussed over J-Pod or Gumby, neither are great at it. Crameri would be a better fit (cost a bit more).

Yeah 5/6 is a pretty good hit rate. There was also Schloithe and Menegola as rookies, so 5/8, but even that's pretty good for one draft year. Add in Kersten or Talia instead of Forster with pick 29, and we'd be saying that 2011 was as good for us as 2008.

I'm all for grabbing J Pod as a free agent and drafting another KPF to develop with our first or second pick.

Sylvia Podsiadly Mayne
Ballaz Pav Walters

With Sandi, Clarke, Fyfe, Mundy rotating through and Crozier/Simpson on the fringes.

This, to me, looks an extremely dangerous forward line, and one very tough to match up on.

We do not need to give up picks or players to get him. We can continue to draft and develop young talents to take over the old guards eventually.

Interestingly, taking Pods, Sylvia and maybe Ellis is a way to improve our current list without losing any players from our squad from last year.

I'll assume all of them needs to earn their spot. If Hannath improves tremendously and performs better, Pods will have to go to Peels to earn the spot back.

Geelong picked Kersten and hamling? Both from WA, and now are set to play Kp's next year.

And very hard to maintain game after game season after season. The easier you can make it the better you are in the long run.

This is why Pods would be useful - The two players this year we struggled against most were Harry Taylor and Brian Lake. Both excellent contested marks, Pods would go some way to curtailing the influence of this type of defender.

Apparently he's on the club radar, not sure if this is just a knee jerk reaction to our lack of "power forward" in the GF or what. His record in big games and away from the Litterbox isn't all that extraordinary, must be a reason why Geelong wouldn't want him.

You guys would be crazy not to nab him while in premiership mode imo. He wouldn't be stealing games from any young kid because atm there is no real option as a true KPF. Best of all call he costs nothing.
