Jack / Coleman - winning bets

We have heard a few nervous posters over the past couple of months mention how they put a Hail Mary bet on JR to win the Coleman early in the season. Ridiculous odds of 200:1, 80:1, etc were mentioned, and big loads of cash were waiting to be won if Jack could some how find his way over the line.

I invite all such punters with a big stake in JR on the Coleman to post in this thread. Please tell us when you placed the bet, what odds you got, how much you are due to win, and most importantly, (assuming JR wins) which pub you will be at after the Port game.

I put on $400 @ 80/1 to win $32,400. I put the money on about 10 minutes before the bounce down of the Friday night game that started Round 10.

Jack had kicked 6 against Essendon the previous week and was only 4 goals behind the Coleman leader at the time. I live in Perth so I won't be in Melbourne unfortunately.

I put $5 on him before the season at 101-1 and also put $5 on Lids at 101 for the brownlow and took a $10 combo at 501-1 for the Jack Lids double.
Looks like one will pay for me

FanFooty --> Game --> Archives --> R10 2010 --> Geelong v Melbourne --> Chat Log --> go down about 55% of the way and read the comment from CamT it says "Jack Riewoldt paying $81.00 for Coleman. A good bet IMHO."

Then you can read the comments from the doubters underneath.

I also backed J Shulz to win Ports Goal kicking for 2010 with $400 @ 10/1 to win $4,400 and B Stratton $350 @40/1 to win $14,350 in the Rising Star.


I'll post you the paperwork if you give me an address.

Naa thats a fair call mate, just seemed like a crazy bet to make as an opposition supporter before Jack really started doing anything! I don't even know many Tiger fans that would have made a bet like that at the at stage! Props to you and it looks like it is just about a sure win now! Congrats

The reason I placed the bet was because all of the other forwards were over 30 and/or injury prone or suspension prone (Hall). I thought Jack would play every game that's all. I'm still just a little bit worried about B Hall playing Essendon under the roof in R22 but I'm sure the Richmond boys (even Angus Graham) will do the right thing if he (Jack) needs force feeding.

I was more confident of Schulz winning the Port goal kicking which he now has. It amazes me how Richmond FC supporters or more importantly coaches don't appreciate the talent you have. If J Schulz was playing forward next to Jack with J Bowden there also, opposition backs would have no chance of matching up. Shane Tuck is a great player but seems to be the amongst the first mentioned for delisting every season.

Got a biggie, (collect over 7k) Goodes into Didak, Goodes is home, Dids 4 infront of Cloke...1 or both may not play next week i reckon with their niggles

Got multis and 1 outs into jack for about 4k, thought it was Jack into Didak for some reason.

Hall could boot 8 or 10 against an Essendon defence that doesnt exist without Fletch which worries me but Jack still has a game and Halls got to do that 1st and I dont think Colemen is any priority for the dogs after the last 2 weeks

I agree. There could be some Bulldogs worried about their spots in the team now. Hall about 7-8 now depending where you shop

Probly only be about $2.50 but you could get on Hall most goals for the match Bull v Bombers, as he has to be a huge chance if he boots 4 or more which he should and atleast your not entirely backing against yourself,,,I might have a go at this
