In 2013, Hayden Ballyntyne put in one of the worst Grand Final performances in the last 30 years. It was genuinely comical, and I thought he might bare the scars of that day for the remainder of his career.
But in 2014 he had his best year, and was selected to the All Australian team.
Right now, Jack Darling would be embarrassed, but he has the potential to let this game fuel him to his best season next year.
If he's anything like Ballantyne, he'll embrace it get better because of it.
Massive 2017 for him.
Darling was far from our worst last night, especially in the first half. It's hard for a forward in our team as well when our midfield is getting smashed.
Darling is a perfectly good second option as a forward. Most teams would be delighted to have him as they number 2.
If ya tall forwards can't take a mark then you can't blame the midfield.
Plenty of opportunities came down his way.
Delighted? Yeah right haha
Did we watch the same game?

The Bulldogs player running at him from 40-50m away was 19 year old first year player Josh Dunkley.Shat himself running back with the flight, pretty embarrassing.
Game was over when that happened. Who cares. That was just embarrassing for him last night, big lump of a bloke, playing on the big stage, elimination final, at home in front of a sold out crowd, vast majority west coast fans and just absolutely shat himself at the thought of a contest and shirked it big time. It was really really bad, his teamates should be pissed at him as should the fans, that is the complete opposite of finals football
Was 10 min left in the final quarter. Game was over. No issue with what he did. Saving himself for the weekend beers ahead. Fair enough too.The Bulldogs player running at him from 40-50m away was 19 year old first year player Josh Dunkley.
Horrible piece of play at home in a final when the Eagles were begging for someone to step up.
Hogan would love to become the forward Darling is currently.Yeah no thanks, don't rate him at all.

McGoverning the backline? They do but he's governing the backline.
