Darling was far from our worst last night, especially in the first half. It's hard for a forward in our team as well when our midfield is getting smashed.

Darling is a perfectly good second option as a forward. Most teams would be delighted to have him as they number 2.

You'd think he was a Jonno Brown type finals player given his size, strength, presence and skills

something is going wrong in the mental preparation

In 2013, Hayden Ballyntyne put in one of the worst Grand Final performances in the last 30 years. It was genuinely comical, and I thought he might bare the scars of that day for the remainder of his career.
But in 2014 he had his best year, and was selected to the All Australian team.

Right now, Jack Darling would be embarrassed, but he has the potential to let this game fuel him to his best season next year.
If he's anything like Ballantyne, he'll embrace it get better because of it.

Massive 2017 for him.

Yep Ballas had a bad performance in the 2013 grand final, but Darling has shat himself in finals, two years in a row.

Looks like Tarzan, plays like .......

That was just embarrassing for him last night, big lump of a bloke, playing on the big stage, elimination final, at home in front of a sold out crowd, vast majority west coast fans and just absolutely shat himself at the thought of a contest and shirked it big time. It was really really bad, his teamates should be pissed at him as should the fans, that is the complete opposite of finals football

If ya tall forwards can't take a mark then you can't blame the midfield.

Plenty of opportunities came down his way.

Delighted? Yeah right haha

He's fine

Played an OK game last night, Did a lot of good things, made a couple of mistakes. He was the eagles best forward. He had more of a solid year then anyone will. Actually looked dangerous for most the game and worked his ass off.

Unfortunately he had 2-3 shocking moments which will stick in peoples mind, he often stops playing to appeal for free kicks, Say what you want about guys like Pops/Selwood ect ducking but they dont flop to the ground acting while there is still a possession to be won. Rub that out of his game and nobody would care.

I'd love him as a second forward.
He, like almost all of his team-mates had a shocker last night.

Shat himself running back with the flight, pretty embarrassing.
The Bulldogs player running at him from 40-50m away was 19 year old first year player Josh Dunkley.
Horrible piece of play at home in a final when the Eagles were begging for someone to step up.

Game was over when that happened. Who cares.

He was quite good last night. The best Eagles forward. Though the forwards weren't that bad it was the midfield and especially flankers - Yeo, Hill, Cripps, Sheed etc that cost Eagles the game

Was 10 min left in the final quarter. Game was over. No issue with what he did. Saving himself for the weekend beers ahead. Fair enough too.
