I am interested in Richmond fans opinions, both dual All Australians, both from Tassie, both wear their hearts on their sleaves, both much loved by the fans. Both will be one club loyal Richmond champions

Richo was one of the few reasons to turn up to Richmond games in the 90s and naughties, kicked 800 goals took over 1500 marks, absolute superstar Richmond player,

Jack gets slightly less goals , but impacts the game just as much, versatile, skilful, game changer, he is also a coleman medallist.

Who do you rate as a bigger Richmond champion?

It is like choosing between two of your children, so much they are loved, but it has to be done.

tell ya what dude...when JR clocks up 800 goals and 38 million marks we can revisit this.

Lol. No competition right now it is Richo.

Ask again when Jack has retired. Might be a different story.

It might be a fair question once Jack plays out his whole career.
Very very different players.
If Jack had Richos motor and speed, and Richo had jacks skill...**** me!
Definitely one is the best mark of a footy I have ever seen and the other just about the most purely skilled two sided players I have seen.
Throw in Disco Roach easily the best kick for goal I have seen and the great Royce who was a package of the lot and where would we be without a little place called Tasmania?:(

One thing I will say though is right now in terms of reliance, JR is streets ahead and that is more to do with the team...i.e. if JR is out, the current team would not win a game....Richo could be covered or was covered when he went down back when . Lets just say we get our arses handed to us on a platter by the swans if not for JR...for those going gaga with the "dominance" of Griff etc...;)

Which testicle would I rather have chopped off?
They both sort of are the same but in reality they have slight differences too - just like Richo and Jack.
Similar roles but different players in different Richmond teams - can not / will not compare and chose....

Having said that, Jack is a champion player but at the end of his career he will not quite reach the Richo level.

If Richo could kick like Jack (or even Tyrone) he would be the GOAT. It's hard to compare them because they are the exact opposite to each other. One was a giant, athletic beast who would run all day but couldn't kick for shit. The other doesn't have the physical gifts but is smarter, more skilled and infinitely better when the ball hits the deck. Jack is a lot more consistent but nowhere near as dominant as Richo on his day.

Now we are talking.... :)

I sometimes wonder if footy supporters realize just how good Jack is?
I am rapt that we have got to see just how good away from the goal square.

and Justin Plapp too..the messiah :straining:

What should not be lost is the loyalty of these two players, and the genuine love they have for the jumper.

Absolutely blessed to have seen them both strut their stuff in their colors.

Both of them could of played wherever they wanted and earnt a truck load more money.

They didn't and they wont, and that my friends is very very rare indeed.

Jack is still 100 games behind Richo, or 5 years @ 20 games a season. If there is a time for a comparison its in 5 years time, if Jack is still playing at 33. 50 goals a season over 5 more seasons gets him to 700.

Richo is a 13 time leading goal kicker for the club! Jack has the last 6 and will need to add the next 5 at ~70 a season to get close to Richo's record.

Love Jack, but he'll have to continue to perform at this level into his early 30's and maybe beyond to come close to Richo.

On topic though, who do I rate higher?

Jack, just.

That is not to denigrate Richo in any way, as I believe he was the greatest athlete I have ever seen on the football field bar none. However Jack has been involved in more goals than any other player in the league since 2010. He is a more complete player, what he loses in the air to Richo, he makes up for it on the ground, and his football IQ is just off the charts.

IMHO history will judge Jack as our best KP forward since Royce, and just in front of Richo, no disrespect to the great man.

no way dude...JR cant play on the wing ;)

Went Richo but bloody hell do i love Jack at the moment. So underrated league wide hes probably one the most skilled players in the game the game on either foot atm.

Spot on Danger. Richo was an athletic freak of nature but people need to watch jack and see just how huge his work rate is.

I was born in 1990 so all I knew about Richmond was Richo when I was a boy.
I actually thought Richmond was named after Richo when I was a kid due to how good I thought he was.
I have a framed signed memrobelia piece above my desk am I'm writing this right now.
Richo was Richmond for nearly 20 years.
Jack is a star but in terms of how much either mean to Richmond there is no comparison IMO.

Does anyone remember Richo befor he did his knee in Sydney, **** he could kick for goal

I just wish we had both olaying in their prime right now. Theyd be the best one two combo by a mile.

Jack riewoldt is very very underrated and its a bloody shame. He wont beat richos goal tally unfortunately but he will hopefully be apart of a premiership team.

completely agree, but that is not what is being asked.

Who is/was will be remembered as a better footballer?

lets just say this dude...as much as I enjoy watching JR play, unless he gets to a point where he becomes a household name via being in the media or something after his career ends, unfortunately for JR if the tigers dont deliver anything of note in terms of a flag over his career, he will fade into the distance as just another top player who was swallowed up by history and basically become a side story at a bar once every decade maybe....that is where i rate the difference between Richo and JR...

That was just a year out of the blue. I think he had kicked 27.3 up to that point but his first two years My God!!!
I can remember going to a game against Hawthorn in late 1994 and he absolutely dominated but i reckon he kicked 2.8 and about 3 out of bounds and the crowd were laughing it was that bad.
