Watts - Pick 1 ND
Warnock - Pick 1 PSD

Im all for it:thumbsu:

BTW he is number 4 if you're not sure.

Thanks for posting this, I'll have a look in a second.

I wouldn't rely on Warnock becoming a Demon at this point, but we'll see what happens.

Looks a little like the love child of David Schwartz and David Neitz.....

Maybe if he had an afro people would come watch?

If Natanui isn't available, then yes, if he is then book tickets to see the freak show. It doesn't matter if we get Warnock or not. Natanui has the ability to play multiple positions, he doesn't have to be a ruckmen. We have to take him if we can.

he looks like justin westoff, skinny boy good hands.

whats his weight listed as? he will be slaughtered early days.....obviously has gret set of hands but he is going to need to bulk up a fair bit

What the selectors need to weigh up on Naita is can he actually live up to the hype?

From what I've been told his form this year hasn't been that of a player who will go no.1 this October and although he does have a lot of athletic ability he averages around 10 touches a game.

I'll keep the faith in Prendergast to pick the right player, but he better bloody not pick a Tambling or there will be hell to pay.

lol.....picking a foward pocket with a top 5 pick........still makes me laugh, richmond are funny.

Did he actually kick either of the goals? If not don't talk to me.

I went early before one of our games and watched that match, i think it was prior to the freo game.

The mark he takes right near the end, he kicked that one.

There was a clock the kids could see, and they were playing 20 minutes, no time on. Less then a minute left and that kid gets the free outside fifty near the members and just boots it to the hot spot, Watts flies over that pack takes that good mark. Goes back and slots the goal from 45m to give them the lead with 10 seconds to go.

The kid's good, no doubt. Kicked something like 13 goals in the 3 u18 national games, so can kick goals as well as a dozen contested marks. But who's to say if he's better then Naitanui or Rich or even Hurley?

His listed measurements, taken from earlier in the year are 194cm and 85kg, so he'll be bigger by the draft. Obviously he'll get pushed around a bit in his first year, you just need to protect him a bit by not throwing him to FF until he's ready.

Take him and Morton and put them in the hands of an East German swimming coach for a few months.

Jack Watts

This guy has the same frame as Morton and seems to be a player with the same qualities...

I'd Much rather:

ROIDHEAD

Have this dude just running off the half back line, simmilar to Mcleods role, hahaha.

I am a fan of Watts but to be honest any one of Natanui, Hurley, Rich or Watts are pretty good talents and would fill a destinct need for us. Rich is not going to be a tambling and the other 3 are all 194 cm plus so we would be getting a player of decent size with significant upside. Rich and Hurley are the most senior ready at this stage but Watts and Natanui have huge potential and could be anything

We are in a good position that we should get a very good player first up no matter which way we go. I think we need to be very careful that we dont assume that the big fijian is going to be the saviour. I hope he is but lets be realistic. I am leaning towards Watts as I think it is easier to find decent ruckman lower in the draft and rookie list. Cox, sandilands etc are examples of this. Generally they take time to develop and become decent players after 4-5 years in the system. If you look at the GUN key position players in the comp most were taken first round. It is a much more difficult position to develop players. It generally comes a little more naturally. Examples of first round key position- Pavlich, Roughhead, Ryder, Franklin, Reiwoldt, Kosi etc. Players like Brown and Hawkins were father son.

There are no certain thing come draft day. I have faith in our recruiting staff selecting the best player for the clubs needs. I think we need to be more concerned with those later selections such as 17, 20 etc whatever we get. These are crucial for us. We need to get 3-5 really strong footballers out of the draft. I think our first pick will be very good no matter which way we go. I think we also need to trade for more picks in the draft much like Hawthorn did. If that means trading an established senior player so be it. We need to rebuild and develop with a strong group of players that will reach there potential in 3-5 years

Not really the same frame. Watts is a few cms taller, but 6-7kg heavier and he's more then a year younger.

And the Westhoff comparison isn't very accurate either, Westhoff is 5cm taller and only 3 kg heavier, plus being 4.5 years older.

Watts is a reasonable build for a junior and by no means undersized. Yes he'll be a bit small when he first plays AFL, but not many kids immediately have an AFL size body, especially KP prospects.

Another good thing about Watts is he's not 18 until march next year, so he could still have plenty of growing to do.

Watts has a very good frame for a bottom aged KP - never expet a tall to be AFL ready in their first 4 years - unbelievably rare to get a guy like Franklin kicking 70+ in his 3rd season and then attempting to crack the 100 mark in his 4th. Even Roughead - freakish amount of improvement from year 1/2 through to year 4.

Love to be able see a few more games of his, having seen so much of the WA kids you get envious of the Vic scouts who get exposed to the Watts/Mckernan/Ziebel/Suban types weekly
