Jaguars selected Florida CB C.J. Henderson with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
A three-year starter at Florida, Henderson (6’1/204) earned freshman All-SEC honors with five starts in year one, second-team All-SEC the following year, and first-team All-SEC (not to mention second-team All-America) in his junior season. A lengthy (31 5/8") specimen with a 4.39 40-time and 91st-percentile Adjusted SPARQ athleticism, Henderson is at his best bodying superior talent in press coverage. The 21-year-old has freakish 4.3 percent body fat and benches 380 with a 545-pound squat and 40.5-inch vertical. Henderson is a below-average tackler and subpar at tracking the ball in the air — hence his unimpressive 10.5 yards per target allowed in 2019 — but was clearly an under performer relative to his elite traits. He has the potential to shadow star receivers at the next level but will need to return to Earth following his inexplicable step backwards in his final year.
