Would Carlton's second round pick, which could be the first selection in that round be enough to get a deal done there?

I hope so, Hopper is firmly in Silvagni & Brodie sights and I think either pick 18 or 19 will get it done.
The AFl will grant CFC a PP and or Levis Casboult compensation.

...just incase you didn't know

I doubt it would cost us anything over our future first

If he nominates geelong that would go pretty close yes.

He didn't have a good game last night the lad.
What is the chance he is already mentally gone but is trying to play through it.
I still rate the guy, others on the Hawks board don't see it.
I think if he does leave it will be as a Premiership player & I hope it's to the Hawks.
I'm boarding the Giants train in September... Choo Choo

Its only his second season and he's hasnt really put it altogether yet, the parts are all there and when he attacks it like a bull and its a contested game like last week, he is good. But people suggesting pick 18-20 are kidding themselves.

You're joking right? First round pick would be the first part of that trade.

Maybe he has checked already, last nights game was rather vanilla. Perhaps it's because he is surrounded by mids that have much more polish like Shiel, Coniglio, Kelly and Whitfield.

If we are keen I would have reservations about trading a future 1st rounder.

Only just back from injury as well.

I compare it a little to the Allen Christensen trade from a couple of years ago, where we got pick 21 for him and that was probably unders at the time.

I think if he nominates us, that's where negotiations will start in any case.

If we could manufacture another future pick would you have the same reservations?
A future second from say GC wouldn't be far behind our future first any way. I'd be happy to enter the draft in the early 20s
