You know what; this guy was one of my favourite players. Alas he is no longer on our list; for reasons I do not know. He had all the potential, and yet Gary Ayres couldn’t get the talent out of him.

It’s a bit sad that the only picture I can find of the great man is this squished old thing. :D

I dunno whether you are being sarcastic or not, but I actually thought he had something to offer. There have been plenty of far worse players on our list over the years.
I'm not, I rated him very highly. Always thought he would make it at the top level, but for some reason or another he didn't.

Was at the Telstra Dome when he made his debut, kicked a 50+ metre goal. :thumbsu:

Good omens for the other players you 'rate very highly' then :p

I had high hopes for Schuback. I guess it wasn't to be though. Like The Crows Truth said, he just had problems finding the pill. Small guy, fairly evasive and a reasonable speed with a big kick. He was a good package but just couldn't get his hands on it. The ball, not the package.

And the reason for that is he just didn't go in hard enough to get the aggot.

Overall he was a small pony with limited non-aggressive tricks. :(

I rated the kid. He was small but he had a thumping left foot kick and some real pace. His downfall is that he doesn't find enough footy and he wasn't a natural crumber. Part of the reason he just doesn't get his hands on the pill is that he didn't work hard enough.

Another one of those players who had the tools but no dedication to make it.

Spot on. Didnt even really kick on at SANFL level, but you could see the kid showed glimpses of brilliance.

I came across this...

Playing in his first game against his former team, Tigers' midfielder Jacob Schuback looked poised to make his former team pay.

He kicked five goals for the game and racking up plenty of possessions, until the Bloods came home strongly.

Football can be a cruel game.

Despite playing a blinder against his former side and kicking five goals, Jacob Schuback's 45-metre set shot at goal at the 22-minute mark in the final quarter that could have won the match. But instead it slid off the side of his boot for no score.
I truly believe he could have made it at AFL level. Shame. :(
