It'll be one of 2 outcomes. Pick 14 for Jacobs or a latter pick plus an "untouchable" like Talia or Davis. Funny how the "untouchables" all of sudden become available during trade week. A lot depends on how we rate those 2 players, and how badly they want to get out of SA.

So likely outcomes (educated guess based on what we know)
1. Jacobs for pick 14 +/- face-saving swaps (50%)
2. Jacobs for Talia plus Compo pick +/- face saving swaps (30%)
3. Other??? (20%)

Can't see how Floodelaide could possibly afford Walker unless they include another "untouchable" or pick 14

Still want Walker to stay though espcially with Grigg likely gone.

Seeing as we have an ok first ruckman, not great but serviceable, there is no way we are going to part way with pick 14. IMO we'll only offer a 2nd round draft pick + a player at the very most.

As said earlier in this thread Adelaide like Jacobs but will not go higher than a second round pick for him. Very highly doubt Sellar will be involved in a trade to Carlton as he is viewed as an average to good KPP which you can never have too many of.

What has really shot Carlton in the foot is the rule changes announced today. With the three interchange plus one substitution rule coming in, mobile kpp/ruckmen will be more valuable than ever. Guys like Ryder, Mitch Clarke are now and guys like Sellar and McKernan can be. Their value has just gone up while Jacobs has gone down.

Like I said, 2nd round pick or Adelaide will likely just let it pass. If he re-signs with Carlton so be it. If he goes to the pre-season draft he may still up in Adelaide anyways.

I think the question is what sort of player. It would have to be a quality player, not someone like Sellar. Reckon if it was Talia it might just get there, although the 2nd round pick this year is very late. Maybe the compo pick instead or latter pick or a pick upgrade. If the Crows don't throw a quality player in, their trade options are very limited apart from pick 14 and swaps.

Ryder and Clark were top 10 picks and would be top 5 in this draft. Sellar has done little at AFL level. McKernan hasn't played a game. Mentioning them in the same breath as Paddy and Mitch just indicates how deluded you Crows supporters truly are.

Anyway, Darren Jolly smashed St Kilda. Genuine ruckmen will beat undersized part-timers any day of the week, regardless of any rule changes.
