Adelaide will end up getting some combo of a 1st, a second, Sam Frost, maybe Jack Watts. At absolute most, 2 1sts. They won't be getting any best 22 player or any of the midfield brigade. You don't trade to go backwards.

When you have a young gun who you rate as elite, you don't put the kind of contract in front of him that makes him want to leave. If you think you're getting market value you're dreaming. If someone were poaching him rather than him shopping himself around, then sure, as for the farm.

The problem for us is we have the cake, but we have no icing, and Jake Lever is the cherry on top. I'm not saying he's a spud, but he's not a luxury we can afford to break up our midfield for... which is the only thing keeping us competitive.

Scrap that. Ideal scenario is the entirety of afl clubs telling him to sit down, take what the crows have offered and to read the AFLPA contracts regarding free agency. And if he misses his daddy so much, he can go to the draft and take his chances, or retire..... which he is free to do at any time.

I couldn't imagine a footy club budgeting for the future. See how we had an incling that Danger was so we held enough back to match. These people do this for a job every day of the week. You are completely guessing

Then he should go to someone else. We took him with pick 14 as a kid out of the game for a knee recon, and we develop him as the best young defender in the game for basically a second rounder on top of what we paid, yeah not good enough. He is worth a top 5 pick, and pick 10 plus a mid second doesnt equal a top 5 pick.

Adelaide have plenty of cap as one of a few teams that did not put the AFLPA increase in their player contracts.

Cap isn't an issue for us... but significantly overpaying players is.
