Jako the keeper

I know a few Eastern staters and non-eagle supporters scoffed about Jako being given the gloves for the International Series.

Jako is one of the most dedicated footballers and is always up to a challange, and this one, incidentally is ranked highly by him, a highlight of his career, as he put it.

He will do well because he has a big heart and is willing to give it a go. I am sure most eagles fans are suprised at his selection but thrilled that he can use this to silence the critics that he is in for an influential 2004 as a key player for the eagles

Jason Petkovic is Glens cousin and he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. If Jack can be half as good as his Glory representing cousin then We'll go alright. If Glory weren't playing the Kungz this week in Newziland then i'm sure Jason would be giving Jackovich some pointers.

I have to admit i was shocked when i heard Jak was goalie... and had a bit of a rhy smile. I am not sure if this will work...but i hope makes a fool of me!!!
I think he may need a lesh to stop him going for a run....like lyon suggested.

I think it'll really work out. He's a big bugger who can park in the goalsquare, and nobody's going to go past him. He's not going to be hampered by loss of leg speed.

Don't know why there is surprise at the naming of Jako in the goal square. In spite of his age he is still pretty agile (a feature of his career) and he is a bigger frame in between the posts than Kellaway was. Like Carnegales said he won't be exposed for lack of toe with the gloves on either. And then there's the European aspect he has going for him.

If it wasn't Jako I would've voted for South Freo's Marty Atkins to get a run.

Bottom Line is
Michael and Jason Petkovic are both class goal keepers Jackovich is there cousin.

GOAL KEEPINGS IN THE BLOOD. HE WILL STOP THOSE IRISH BASTARDS. ITS IN HIS BLOOD.

you have a point. I mean in the legends match you had shane heal and shane warne, who are not footballers so the notion of having an actuall keeper in the side would sound feasible.

BUT JAKO IS THE GOALIE AND THAT IS THAT

He's been close a couple of times but never got the call up. During Australias WCQ against away from home George Griljusich made a huge call saying that "Petkovic Would of saved that" as Schwarzer let 1 in.

But Hey thats only GEORGE.

Anyway its all about Jacko doin it for Australia and as i said before if he's half as good as his relatives then we'll go alrite.
