I don't think either of those eventualities is likely to happen.

Aish will cost a 1st round pick + something extra (probably a 2nd round pick). I think it's highly unlikely that he will fetch 2x 1st round picks, not even if they are late 1st rounders.

I also don't think it's at all likely that Dangerfield will go via the PSD. I think accept a FA offer, Adelaide will match it, then he will be traded to the club of his choice. We won't get full value for him, but we'll get more in return than the FA compensation pick.

Disagree on both.

First rounder is enough for Aish (providing it's earlier than 16).

Danger staying.

There's no way on earth that a late 1st rounder (10+) alone will get the job done with Aish.

As for Danger.. could go either way. My previous post was obviously assuming that he is intent on leaving. This may or may not be the case. I hope he stays, but I'm not reading any positive signs coming from him the way that we have with Sloane & Douglas (both coming out of contract but publicly committed to the club).

If it's true that we apparently haven't made an offer for Aish (which I highly doubt), I hope it's because we're tabling a big offer to either Dylan Shiel or Adam Treloar. As much as I'd love to have Aish running around in Crows colours, I'd rather either of those two.

Well we can probably have a bet on this one as he appears to be 99% gone whether it's to the Crows or elsewhere.

If destination club has a first round pick <= 15: First round pick
If destination club has a first round pick > 15: First round pick + swap of later picks

Why not ??

He hasnt gained any value since his drafting and he was at the lower end of the 10. If we pay what he was drafted then we lose IMO. The kid will be a good player, but good players dont cost single figure draft picks.

Highly unlikely we're even in the hunt for Shiel or Treloar. Neither are from SA, plus the focus should absolutely be on Dangerfield (because he's our best player), Sloane (because he's one half of our heart and soul), Aish (because he's a highly talented local who apparently wants to come home), and KPPs (because if Talia went down tomorrow our key defenders would be Hartigan and 'insert rookie here').

If we're hunting anyone born outside SA it really should be a J Carlisle, Rance or L Henderson type IMO.

I'd love Dylan Shiel running around for us as much as anyone, but it just doesn't make any sense to prioritise him over talls.

I see Aish as a good accumulator on the outside with excellent foot skills…certainly worth a fair bit.

However, he isn't a quick, explosive player and doesn't win a heap of inside ball to round out his game.

Hope we don't overpay in terms of picks.

He was taken at pick #7 - and the main reason he slid that far was because clubs were concerned about his potential as a homing pigeon. Since then he has (or will have) had 2 years of development and has shown every sign of living up to his top billing. In no way has his value been reduced.

We have plenty of inside mids who can't kick.

We need an outside mid with an elite leg. That's Aish. He is exactly what we need.

I agree with you, but I don't see his ceiling as a 'top 10 in the league' type that's all.

I def want him but I don't wanna pay crazy prices out of desperation.

I would love to know how we get him. If we finish top 6 and Danger stays will we may struggle to find a sufficient trade especially if we top port.

Seriously doubt port would be a serious party to an Aish trade. They gave up both their first and second rounders last year for Ryder and drafted dross with late picks. They would be loathe to surrender another first rounder. Plus he doesn't fill a need at all. They are loaded with classy outside types after years of early draft picks. With Schulz looking much older and Butcher being, well, Butcher, they need a quality tall forward or their forward structure will collapse after Schulz. Plus I don't think they would have all that much cap space to throw at a player surplus to needs. Most likely they'll make a token offer to keep us honest and drive his price up.

I don't think Port have great midfield depth and probably fills more of a need for them then he does for us, Aish would be almost a one for one replacement for Danger if he goes but if Danger stays he is more just the icing on the cake. You are right though, Port lack key forward depth and may look to chase that sooner rather then later, depends on the draft and whether they think there is anyone worthwhile at their pick. I would say the AFC are no more than 50% chance of getting him over Port.

He isnt super quick, his disposal is good but not super and he doesn't appear to have a great goal sense. If we are giving up a top 10 pick then its a no for mine.

Itll be our first rounder and a mid range player or the Dangerfield compo if he leaves. A club thats been cruelled for top end talent needs the draft picks.

Nah, no way known does Aish fill more of a need for port than for us.

Nor is he like for like for Danger. Danger is a bull on the inside. Suggest you watch Aish in action. Outside polish is what he brings. Something we need and need again.

As much as I am keen to get Aish in the team - don't we have other more pressing needs?
Wouldn't it be nice to add some more elite speed through the midfield, or more depth in key defenders? Not sure going gang busters for Aish is what we should be doing.

lol, I meant in terms of getting in a top talented player in terms of a replacement for Danger. Don't be so literal. We can never have too much talent on the list, don't get me wrong.

They have put 2 years of development into him!

Also he has shown a fair bit. No way would they want to go back to the lottery as a return on that investment.

And this is my point. They will rightly want a high price for him and on current form we arent getting a top 10 pick. I would love to know how we are getting on even if Danger leaves.

Dont get me wrong, he will be a good player but is he good enough for the price he will have on his head. IMO no but would happily get him and be proven wrong.
