Weekend Wrap and "Liked, Learned, Hated" right here -- How did tipping go?
Said what?I basically said all this weeks ago
Why are people so keen on getting rid of Jenkins? Do we have some mysterious 40 goal a year forward/ruckman waiting in the Sanfl?
So out of interest... The player going to Fremantle..... Is that danger ?I basically said all this weeks ago
No chance of that happening, given that this would mean us paying less a late 1st round pick in total. It's highly likely that we'll finish higher than Brisbane, so an exchange of 2nd & 3rd round picks is an upgrade for us.
Maybe our 1st & 2nd for Aish + Brisbane's 3rd.

Getting screwed over in the past doesn't come into it. No team has been more screwed over than Brisbane in the 2013 trade period when five high draft picks walked out for home states and Brisbane got no where near correct value.Fair point, it's what i'd angle for... it definitely doesn't feel right to give two draft picks up for Aish when he's out of contract and we've been screwed over in the past with this.

Look at Dayne Beams going home to Brisbane last year, cost Brisbane (roughly) pick 8, 25 and the highly promising Jack Crisp.
Aish will cost us our first and second picks minimum, Port will do that in a heartbeat. If Danger walks out, expect that compo pick to be in play as well. Aish is a rare talent, clubs will pay to get him.
Aish walking is a big reason why we should support the northern academies because the four northern teams suffer unfairly from go home factor because they have a much higher % of interstaters on their lists.
They're just busy doing Playstation trades. There's almost no chance of JJ going anywhere, given that he seems very happy at Adelaide and doesn't seem to have any desire to go anywhere.
Brisbane thought beams was only worth pick 5. Aish should be worth way less than that. I also wouldn't pay overs for a player we don't really need (should danger stay) just because port would pay it.Getting screwed over in the past doesn't come into it. The Vince trade was very much the exception to the rule. It's the only example from the last 15 years where an Adelaide player has been traded against his will.So did vince
Giving up our 1st and 2nd round picks is not far-fetched at all - particularly if we finish towards the upper end of the ladder and our 1st round pick is 12+. Right now, it's the most plausible scenario that anyone has come up with. Your comments about Beams are valid, but you're kidding yourself if you think that our 1st round pick alone will get the job done. You can't compare Beams deal and Aish
1. Beams was one of collingwoods best players
2. Beams was still contracted to collingwood
3. Aish is out of contract , so giving up our first and second like you suggested is far fetched

There were 3 reasons why the Vince trade happened the way it did:
There are no such exceptional circumstances surrounding an Aish trade, or any current Adelaide player.
- Adelaide had a very strong desire (need) to get back into the 1st round of the draft, as a result of the Tiprat draft penalties (which came on the back of the GC & GWS start-up drafts).
- Vince made himself expendable as an on-field asset by cruising through almost his entire career and rarely giving 100%.
- Vince put his own head on the chopping block by repeatedly getting himself into trouble with his off-field antics.
He certainly wasn't a "required player"...except you can't be traded unless you agree to it, so it wasnt really against his will in the end.
if i recall correctly, someone on here stated that he wouldnt get a contract extension if he stayed, thus swaying him to accept the trade.

It was more the terms that Melbourne were willing to offer compared to AFC that encouraged Bernie to accept.except you can't be traded unless you agree to it, so it wasnt really against his will in the end.

Comedy gold.Especially contested marking situations.
Jenkins + 3rd rounder = Aish. Deal done.
Surely Freo have more pressing needs than an inside mid such as Danger. So out of interest... The player going to Fremantle..... Is that danger ?
Everyone thinks he is looking east. Go west, there is a premiership contender with money to splash.
Just a theory of mine - hop I'm wrong !!
Before we contemplate getting rid of Jenkins, can we make sure we have a decent depth up forward. The only forwards we have who aren't playing and who aren't Pods, are inexperienced forwards who have injury issues and haven't been able to play a lot of games in the past few days. And Ramsey who has potential but had a real shocker on the weekend. He will get better but wouldn't put all my stocks on him replacing Jenkins.
Ramsey isn't replacing Jenkins anyway as he can't ruck. We only have a few replacements for Jenkins (Dear, Lowden, O'Brien) and none of them are ready for his role.
Way too much rubbish thrown at Jenkins. It's ridiculously over the top.Why are people so keen on getting rid of Jenkins? Do we have some mysterious 40 goal a year forward/ruckman waiting in the Sanfl?
