I wouldn't believe what Rucci says :P

What I do with rucci quotes is only read the direct quotes attributable to someone else.

Taking anything more from a rucci article is asking for trouble

I watched the show and I'm sure Scott was having a crack at Eddie who criticised Geelong. He didn't say anything derogatory to Port. But thanks Port for opening up with what your recruiting strategy is. Rucci you w***er

What have you actually learnt about ports strategy other than they talk to managers about player 'types' ? And that they haven't made a move on Aish.

I didn't know they do annual presentations to the player managers. I wonder if all clubs do.

I knew they spoke generically to agents and sold the club to them.
To be honest I was more commenting on rucci thinking he'd uncovered something amazing, rather than potting you.
(And if port had made a move on Aish would they be telling Rucci)

I thought the whole point was to say crows would have to pay big for Aish as we have no midfield depth wheras Port are not interested in Aish but would be the perfect home for any player who fills a gap in their list. Most of this stolen from here one way or the other.

I never know what his points are, but I guess given he keeps reminding us all he's paid up crows member he's 50% your responsibility now. ;)

Does it really make a difference if more than one club shows interest in a player? Any player of worth who requests a trade nominates a club they want to be traded to, upon which offers from other clubs become irrelevant. It may help to drive said players contract value up, but it does SFA to help that players current club.

And even then he skips out the preceding sentence which adds the context!

My only concern with Aish is overpaying massively for him. We're not a Premiership contender where he say we can give up a ton of assets to get him in because it'll pop us over the top. We need more good young talent, but if it's going to cost us a 1st Rounder + 2nd rounder + Jenkins (who could probably be valued as a 2nd rounder) as well as a good chunk of cap space then we may need to seriously weigh up the value of that and if Aish is worth it, or can we get equal/more talent at a cheaper cost in the draft and through free agency.

If we didn't pay ridiculous overs for a RFA in betts then it won't be crazy money for aish. If anything, we will pay overs at the trade table rather than in salary.

He's not homesick and he isn't missing Scharenberg. He's opportunity shopping.

Won't be at Brisbane next year, but also quite a long shot to be at the Crows unless there is some ridiculous money on the line.

How will he look in Navy Blue?
There is mention that Scharenberg has stalled on contract talks with the pies, maybe the crows are into both him and Aish in a 3 way deal for Danger?
just a speculation.

We need him, outside mids are a desperate need.

Go for him, go for Toumpas, then try and find a decent KPF and KPD.

Should be easy ;)
Ah jeez not Toumpas talk again. The guy struggles to get a game at Melbourne. Cannot play, don't want.

In fact, it's debatable whether Aish is worth any bother.

Aish and Scharenberg!

Danger can go and spray clearances to the boundary at Collingwood. That would be awesome.

As far as I'm concerned, the Adelaide crows have never been a destination club.

In 25 years, we have struggled to attract quality first choice 22 players to come to the club.

Jarman, Carey, Betts,.....

Just for clarity, how many quality first choice 22 players have moved in the last 25 years, competition wide?

If we've claimed just 3 of 100, then it is bad.
But if it is 3 of 35, then it is good. (1 in 12, with 18 teams, is a good strike rate)

We'd be stupid not to move heaven and earth* to get Aish. Just took a look at Brad Ebert for a blueprint on the whole situation. We're crying out for midfield talent, yet playing it a little conservative to avoid coughing up 'too much'. Pls, we were gonna throw half our cap at Jezza, we got the space.

*Pay a little overs.
