By gee time has flown, but the JPOD will play his 50th game on Friday.

What a journey it has been, from overlooked vfl gun to warmup supervisor to AFL Premiership player and being an integral part of our best 22.

Well done to JPOD and here's hoping for another few great years from him.

Re: James Podsiadly-50 games

well....perhaps a little more emphasis to stand up on Friday night having Kelly's 200th and Jpod's 50th :thumbsu:

Well done Pod!
Champion player and could have gone down as one of the truly top forwards of all had he started playing in the hoops 12 years ago.

Re: James Podsiadly-50 games

without doubt, the most satisfying 50 game milestone in my time of following football.

extremely deserved, and he seems like a top guy to go with being a top footballer.

Re: James Podsiadly-50 games

The footballing community almost takes him for granted now, that's how well he's done.

I still remember his first game against Freo, when he took that mark and kicked a goal to put us in front and almost win the game.

A great effort and an inspiration to NEVER GIVE UP!

Re: James Podsiadly-50 games

Great story and changed the game IMO. Clubs, after seeing how well Pods did at Catland, started to look at mature age recruits more. Also says a bit about our club willing to look outside the square.

Well done JPod - and I trust Kel and you have great games and a win to celebrate one of the most unlikely recruits and success stories in the AFL.

Well done Pods! An inspiration to mature age footballers still clinging onto hope about a shot at the big time. He hasn't just come into the side and been a bit player, he was a major influence in our premiership last year. 50 thoroughly deserved games for perseverance, dedication and attitude.

Love Pods and really appreciate what he has brought to the team, on and off the field.

Just a wonderful story, and after watching the Cats for around 60 years,I can say nothing gave me more pleasure than seeing JPOD and Lonners with premiership medals around their necks. Two vastly different stories of courage and persistence but two stories that should be remembered in the future anytime the 2011 GF is relived.
Well done James on the 50.

Got to say I nearly wished him happy birthday just seen games at the last minute.

Fantastic achievement, what a player he is. One of the best contested marks in the game.

For sure, here's hoping we have a win to celebrate :thumbsu:

Great credit to Pods, not only has he done outstandingly well for us in the last 2 1/4 seasons but he's also helped a lot with developing a guy like Hawk too. Just fantastic that Wells took the punt on him when for years he deserved it and no other recruiter would.

"Scotty coming in refreshed the group, and when someone new comes in, people need to prove themselves again and that’s what happened to the players that had been there for a while." - James Podsiadly

Does he hold the record for longest time between getting drafted (the first time) and playing his first match?
