We will see the virtue of getting Hartley to the club now. Should get opportunities now that Sic is gone to be an interceptor who can play on the talls. Would much rather him than O Brien being that player. Scrimshaw could also move into that role. Has good hands and is a good kick. Silver lining is we have options as cruel a blow as this is. The guy deserves to play in a great Hawthorn team so let's get back to that level and we can welcome him back were he can slot straight back in.

The only silver lining is it'll make the decision to rebuild an eaiser one - and we still have a number of games left in the year for Clarko to observe how we perform without him.

Look at it this way guys - if our football team is destined to have a couple of sh*t years what better time to bank them than during pandemic-affected seasons?
Our Chief Medical Officer isn't predicting a vaccine for 12-18 months so 2021 will probably wind up being just as compromised as 2020, a perfect opportunity for James to put his feet up while we regroup & prepare for the future.

He's not just arguably our best player (clearly our best this year) but he's the guy who gives the side energy.

We are a flat, vanilla side. We are friendly to opponents and enjoy a laugh on the field. Sicily is the fire cracker who plays with real passion, the same way Toby Greene does for GWS. I really worry about our energy/intensity without him, quite aside from his ability as a player.
