The title says it all.

Jammo given 2 weeks with an early plea.

... and Ellard given 1 week.

Disgrace :(

Hopefully we can challenge this and win on appeal like we did with Browne's last year.

You have got to be joking? Didn't see the Jamison hit but the Ellard one didn't deserve a free kick.

The bump is gone...

Bad news.

Had both in my round 1 team so here's hoping their replacements can step up in their places for a few games.

We are lucky that our first 2 games are against who they are, rather than some really tough games.

Not ideal news by any stretch of the imagination, but we've all been impressed with our ability to draft and develop a bit of depth on every line. This presents a great opportunity to test out that depth.

The Jamo one....weeks because the guy was injured pretty badly, in today's age it is what it is.
The Ellard one, harder contact has been made on the netball court.
They really need to get a grip.

real shame for Ellard as he needs to impress on the park with plenty of youngsters scrambling for his spot
Certainly the Jamo one hurts our structure significantly. Perhaps TBird will fly again after all

Re: Jamo
Only seen it once, but he hit him after Yaz released the ball, and knocked him out. Always going to go unfortunately.

Haven't seen the Ellard one, but I wouldn't have him in the side Round 1 anyway.

we can complain all we like, but a decision has been made. It's a real shame because Jamison matches up perfectly on Reiwoldt. Ellard has been in ripping form lately as well.

More important is replacements.Setanta or Thornton will probably have to play full back, and maybe Joseph can play Ellard's role in the middle? (with duigan taking over Joseph's role in the backline)

Only suggestions, don't rip my head off

Weak.

The bump was shoulder to shoulder after Henderson turned into the shepherd.

Embley's bump was just as hard and as late as Jamison's.

A bump that put Maxwell in hospital.

Yet Embley has no case to answer.

Blue Jamison offered two weeks by MRP
Jamison has been charged with a level three engaging in rough conduct offence. The match review panel assessed the contact on Henderson as negligent, high and of a high impact.

In total, the offence has drawn a penalty of 325 demerit points, which means a three-match suspension.

Because Jamison has no prior record he can have the penalty reduced to two matches if head pleads guilty.

Andrew Embley's bump on Nick Maxwell, which has left the Collingwood skipper in hospital suffering bleeding from the kidneys, was also looked at.

The match review panel decided the contact was neither high nor unreasonable.

What a joke, but no suprise. Maybe our boys should have put a couple of the Crows in hospital with serious injuries like West Coast did to the FagPies.:thumbsd:

Technically it was the wrong decision of course, because the initial contact was with the ribs, and the Crows guy then fell contributing to the contact with Jamo's shoulder. However I'm not surprised by the decision because the MRP have a long established reputation for incompetence, and bending to media pressure. It's basically a joke. Bet Jack's delighted, because Jamo always thrashes him. Anyway, it's a great opportunity for a young KP defender to make a name for themselves. Also a shame about Ellard, but we're not exactly light on for midfielders. With all the injuries and now suspensions, this would have to be Bleakmonds very best chance of beating us. Will they stuff it up?

:)

I suppose we have a few options to cover Jamo, but none of them really instil a heap of confidence. Bower is solid, but is better suited up the ground. Setanta could go back, but I would be concerned that Riewoldt would have a bit of a night out on him. Could be a chance for Thornton to show that he's not quite done with yet.

Would love to see Watson play in rnd 1.

Pretty sure Richmond plan on moving Riewoldt a little up the ground which will help Bower.

I expect Emu to line up on him if we accept Jamo's suspension (which we should).

I'd replace Jamo with either Watson or Davies.

Watto would be a chance to play on Miller with Bower going to JR.

Davies would also be a chance to go to Riewoldt if he's not playing deep in the forward line.

I think Thornton is every chance to be in the team, but as a forward. Especially if Hendo isn't quite ready yet.

Setanta is also a chance but I think he'd be behind the above names. May be preferred to Thornton as a forward but that's about it.

To be honest, I think Ellard is the bigger loss for us. That's not to say that I think he's anywhere near as good as Jamo, because obviously he isn't - but I would've put my house on Ellard lining up for the seniors in round 1. McLean may not be ready yet, which really puts Curnow in contention for a spot in the midfield.

Is there any footage of the Ellard incident, seems to have come out of the blue. Having seen the Jamison hit I am really disappointed in the MRP decision, the contact was to the shoulder and if Henderson had any awareness this wouldn't of even been touched. Jamison gets the punishment because his opponent should of known he was there but didn't

Doesn't he have to be elevated, or can we elevate 2 rookies at the start of the season? We don't have anyone on the LTI, do we?

I think from memory we can elevate 2 Rookies at the start of the season & 1 more in either June or July.

I remember in 2009 we had 3 or 4 Rookies that played against Richmond in Rnd 1 - (Jacobs?, Garlett, Robinson & Joseph?)
