Brought aggression and intensity back to his game. No floating around, but hard incisive football. He would have got the message from Ken during the week.

Agree totally FF his approach was quick and hard at the contest and he took the ball with him...his skills are now a given but what impressed me the most was his hard approach and unselfish ball use, particularly by foot.

What is really impressive is his quick mind. He thinks thinks through very quickly to the point it looks instinctive. And boy is he fast off the mark. We shall see how things go with teams that play tighter one on one.

He's a special, unique talent. A little bit of the Josh Francou's about the way he finds his way out of traffic.

He's no mere outside runner but he's certainly more "outside" than Francou and usually looks a far more composed kick than Francou ever was. The two observations may be connected...

It will be interesting to see who has a bigger impact off the wing at Subi next Saturday, Polec or Hill. Both love to run and carry and bounce their way forward and have great left foot kicks.

Good point REH.
One of the many fascinating elements of Saturday's game. I'm sure both Ken and Ross will be trying to curb the influence of each respective opposition game breaker.

i loved the bit at the end of his run down the wing in the 4th qtr - when he ran straight at the goals looking for all money like he was lining up a shot, forcing gray's defender to move towards him, before dinking a perfect chip to gray in space.

didn't telegraph it at all. the defender had no chance.

Had an immediate when he made that run.
I yelled "Go all the way kid, make yourself famous!!"
Only for him to chip it off.

Was so unselfish. 99% of the AFL's players would have went for goal.

I noted to my mates with about 5 minutes left of the 3rd quarter that the players looked to be passing it to Gray at any opportunity to pad his stats for the Charlie..

Anyone else think that was a thing?

Nah maybe he was just the best option at the time. He is playing a lot more in the midfield and when there are stoppages on the wing he is always there.

Surprised this thread didn't get bumped last night but boy oh boy 10+ years of watching this kid develop & eventually dominate alongside Chad, Wines & numerous others is something I'm looking forward to.

That left foot, I don't know how to do it but can someone i.e Lama94 make a gif of a few his pieces of play, namely that pass forward that was spoiled but then followed it up with an impossible to defend dart that hit Gray lace out.

Wish he went for goal in the third instead of being too unselfish.

Polec is my main man! Silky smoooooooth. And he wears #21, which only reminds me more of my favourite Port player of all-time...

From 50+ on the run, with Wingard protecting the goal-line, against the wind in the 2nd when nobody could make the distance from 40m..................

Immediate!!

Would bank on him winning a charlie beforee Wines or Wingard

to think that he has never played over ten games in a single season/had back to back full pre seasons before
