Jarman to leave Crows
10:49:07 PM Thu 2 September, 2004
Sportal
Darren Jarman is leaving the Adelaide Football Club to join his brother, Andrew, to set up the Jarman Football Academy at Prospect Oval, home of SANFL club North Adelaide.
In a prepared statement on Thursday night, Adelaide chief executive officer Steven Trigg said the club would not be 'recontracting' assistant coach Jarman for 2005.
"A comprehensive review of the season, and football operations generally, is continuing," Trigg said.
"At this point, however, the club has determined that this change should be announced now, given Darren's situation.
"Darren will join brother Andrew in the establishment of the 'Jarman Football Academy'.
"This new venture will be based at Prospect Oval and will cater for the coaching and development of young footballers from all areas.
"Darren is a dual premiership player with the club, a three-time leading goalkicker and has been on the coaching panel for three years.
"He has given tremendous service to our club, both as a player and as an assistant coach.
"This is a mutually workable outcome, with the club engineering an element of change and Darren looking to broaden his skills.
"We wish him all the best for the future."
