I am qualified to comment as i was at that match and saw what happened. Campbell had been annoying hte living crap out of several demon players all day, well any way to cut a long story short, Farmer must have been blinded by the sun and accidentaly charged into Campbell. In fact, I'm surprised that dirty dog campbell didn't get reported for striking poor Farmer in the last quarter. If Farmer gets suspended, I have lost all faith in the tribunal process

Well i was wrong about Daffy / Campbell (it is hard to tell them apart they both look like ****S) but i'm sure that Campbell struck down Farmer in teh final quarter which should have resulted in a 50 metre penaltiy and a report. THe Umps go soft**** early in the Ansett cup methinks

Farmer will get off on that charge, looking on the reply on tv convinces me of that. Are the umpires biased against farmer because he is ...

Bullshit guys. Farmer is lucky just to get 2 weeks. That knock on Daffy was huge. And i didn't see the Campbell incident so i can't judge but he is not the kinda person that would do that.

poor leigh brown got 2 weeks for tripping but it was an accident use may not think it was cause it was against use but browny would not trip someone on purpose like most players

Don't blame the tribunal, there only following exactly to the rule book what it defines as a charge. If you read it, you'll see why he got 2 weeks.

(a) A Charge means an act of colliding with an opposition Player where the amount of physical force used is unreasonable or unnecessary in the circumstances, irrespective of whether the Player is or is not in possession of the football or whether the Player is within 5 metres of the football.

Farmer did that.

(b) Without limiting the general application of Law 15.4.4(a), a Charge occurs when a Player unreasonably or unnecessarily collides with an opposition Player:

(i) who is not within 5 metres of the football;

The umpire said the ball was 8 metres away and the tape proved it.

(ii) who, although within five metres of the football, is not in the immediate contest for the football and would not reasonably expect such contact;

The tribunal ruled this happened, and it was outside 5 metres.

(iii) who is attempting to Mark the football or who has Marked the football or been awarded a Free Kick;

(iv) after that Player has disposed of the football;

(v) who is Shepherding another Player on his or her Team; or

Daffy was doing this just before he got hit.

(vi) before the football is brought into play.

You obviously never met him... if u did you would know that he is one of the nicest guys in the AFL. he was going for the ball and if he hit Dick Duffy than it was an accident. The shit he has to put up with every game is unbelievalbe... u wouldnt know coz u dont go and watch the games live and trust me there is alot more going on the field than what the camera chooses to show! the players just keep on charging and they are lucky because we all know what he can do yet he doesnt do it. Sometimes i must admit he goes over the top and lets some steam out but every player would do that if they got treated the way he does!!!

well unfortunately farmer didnt get off, but b4 u go ******* dockerbabe, we arent going off, cos a melbourne player got reported, and saying it was unfair etc, the Brown incident was last weeek. old news, whats done is done. hakuna matata ok. what we r getting in a shit about, is the fact that the umpires tend to pick on farmer, cos he is, and yes turlough, im gonna say it, hes aboriginal. ok i said it. its a known fact that the umpires have something against farmer, as he always seems to get the short end of the stick from the umpires (unlike the richmond players, who get all the umpires stick, but thats a different story), and he can get reported over the stupidest things, and even if he gets off, the fact that he got reported for doing something is still there. look, ok what he did was wrong, and yes he got suspended, but surely it was only for one week. my god he didnt even knock him out cold. Bloody Long gets 3 weeks for knocking out simmo. well at least long deserved it cos he did it right. (although he was one of my teams players) if u go to charge someone u have to do it right. they have to be out cold, for it to be worth it.

As for some of u, perhaps u need the sense knocked in to u. phhhh, u all make me sick.

Daffy was 8m off the ball (so the ump says) and the rules says the shepharding is only allowed within 5m!
Hitting a player cold is worth it? OK it is good to see you getting into your footy but we don't want to kill the guys on the field!
