I'm not keen on the idea. I'd be unhappy - regardless of dollars - if we sold off more games interstate like he did with the Hawks. I'm not opposed to an 'outsider' coming in like Jackson has and being able to make decisions clear of too much emotion but with Kennett's track record of opinion of what we should do in the past I'd prefer someone else. Assuming someone else wants the job...

Lets remember, if anyone understands branding it's Kennett. I don't think he'd relocate the club at all despite his past statements. The best and strongest thing we have going is the name itself - Melbourne. Kennett's ego understands the power of that name. I don't think we would see him rock a red and blue suit, but I do think we would see his intellect and will imposed in an environment where there has been none. Sure, Dicker rebuilt the financial side of the Hawks, but would they have anywhere near as many members and supporters without Kennett egotistically mouthing off and building a winner-takes-all mentality?

I am not having my club ruined by ignorant idiots, like the ones who voted pro merger (like Jeff Kennett). I have put a lot of myself in to this club and I am not going to see it thrown away.

I will fight tooth and nail if this gets any real traction. As for now, it is being ridiculed in inner circles, just an angry old twat, trying to destabilise the club.

Thankfully it's up to the members to vote. A strong case will have to be mounted from any candidates. It's a genuine shame that so few have put their hand up for the role.
