He didn't have to say anything. The situation itself would have lead to increased pressure on Melbourne. You don't think a player from a different state with a significant draw home would command more money from Melbourne than a Vic based player?

That goes for any player from a different state.

We obviously worked hard at this and put the best offer we could on the table, and although I was in the "Get Hogan club", I was also in the opinion that it was not worth putting all our eggs in that basket. No doubt Hogan is a fantastic player, however you never know what the future holds, so it may turn out to be a good result for us. Good luck to Hogan (and Melbourne).

Thankful for that, if he decided to come home we would have had to sell the farm and cripple our rebuild to get him this year.

To be honest Tayl0r if we had got him (along with Cam) we might have been able to rethink our rebuild.
