Not sure I buy the "mindfulness" tag of this puzzle, and outside of checking the corners, I didn't refer to the picture as it really wasn't helpful for piece location

But it's definitely one of the cleanest images I've ever worked on

Have you seen the videos of folks using a colander to shift puzzles and shake out the dust 😂

I haven't quite gone to that extent, but I do my best to not upended the bag & keep as much puzzle dust within it as possible

But even doing that I still end up with puzzle dust on my puzzle board which I only see after I complete the puzzle and am putting it away. What I do then is to tip the board on its side and shake the dust into the carpet... I'll trust the vacuum cleaner to get it later 😂
Colander is a brilliant idea :).

YES! the bottom one in your picture is the one I was referring to in an earlier post. As the pieces are more or less interchangeable, we found this nerve-wrackingly frustrating, and not at all mindful ;). Good luck!

Has anyone had any experience with plastic puzzle pieces? Will it ruin the experience compared to the regular cardboard pieces? The reason I ask is that this thread has encouraged me to go out and buy one. I'm thinking of this because it's one of my favourite pieces of art in the world and it's 500 pieces, but it's got plastic pieces.

Did some small 300pc Harry Potter 3D puzzles and they were plastic but they still looked good but not sure if they’d be for everyone!

Can’t show you the photos they aren’t loading but will try on a seperate post

I have not seen plastic pieces before, not sure how I feel about it either.
The puzzle I’m now doing has really good quality pieces, seem to be a little bit thicker and fit together nicely.

Yes! We've done this 2000 piece Pintoo puzzle - https://perfectfit.sg/collections/2...oducts/2000-pieces-singapore-fun-at-boat-quay

The pieces are well formed and fit very tightly. So tightly in fact that it's actually quite hard to pull them apart again. They're also smaller than what you might be used to. Our 2,000 piece when finished was smaller than a standard Ravensburger 1,500.

The experience was different but still enjoyable. Not sure I'd do another one, but if you see a subject you particularly want, them go for it. You might find the finished product though smaller than you expected for 500 pieces.

I usually tip all the pieces into the lid, then go outside and knock the dust out of the base. Then I take handfuls of pieces and take out edge pieces and put the rest back into the base, right sides up. When the lid is empty I go outside and knock any dust out.

Then I look at the picture and pull out pieces that are identifiable, eg colours, writing, faces, etc. I prefer puzzles with lots of detail, such as Wacky World, French cafes, and similar.

A friend gave me one of a leopard - two colours, lots of black, lots of spots… It went to the op shop 😉

Thanks for the honest response. I might try to keep looking around for a non plastic version.

I’d do the top one but not the sunrise.
Scrolling FB just now, in one of the puzzles groups I'm a member of, someone not even 10 minutes ago posted the completed image of sunrise puzzle - that made me chuckle

Just came here to tell you this but you’ve already come across it haha

I think 1000 pieces is beyond me. But in saying that, I just cracked open another 1000 piece puzzle 😂. We originally got this as a gift for my mum and after finishing it, she gave it back. I'll post again in about 3 months time when I finally finish it.

That sounds good value if it's complete. I think we paid $95 in an Amazon sale.

I’m going to get the dimensions and see if my pool table can fit it

It's 153 x 101, unfortunately about 3cm too tall for our table, so I just left off the top few rows. Bunnings sells an MDF sheet 180x120 so that might be just the ticket, if it'll fit in the car.
My pool table is 2.4 x 1.2 but the cover makes it a smidge smaller, I’ll measure when I get home

We had this one, it is very striking completed, and trickier than you might think. A suggestion if I may - it has a gold border around it which from memory is 2-3 pieces wide on each side. You might find it fits on your board without this border, and you still get the full effect of the puzzle.

It's also available for $80 incl shipping from amazon. Definitely recommended.
Ended up getting the Zodiac Puzzle tonight but just going to store it till I move out of home which could be in 10 yrs at least just wanted to get it now as in 10 yrs time it probably won’t be available.

Then also got the Chocolate Letters Shop one. Just love the colours in that one!
