I love the way he throws himself at the contest, be it in the air or at water level. I never doubt the intentions and outcome when the 'real' Jimboy has the ball.

And that clutch goal on satdee nite, hmmm... class.

I think he is a valuable commodity to our team and can be a real game-saver at times.

He is a wet weather specialist and while that can be really handy down at skilled stadium, that doesn't really help at the business end of the season or playing at TD (or any ground during the worse drought in history). But aside that he is a walk up starter to the 22 everytime.

I said it 12 months ago, 6 months ago and ill say it again.

James should be captain. Would of been a long term thing as Harls will have for 2-3 years tops. Hopefully with gaz and chappy spending more time in the midfield, James can go forward abit more.
Bomber seems to love to throw Kel up forward one out in times of need yet for his size, there isnt a much better mark in the comp than Bartel.

According to the AFL Prospectus he's had the most contested marks out of all midfielders for two years in a row. If he's getting tagged, put him one out in the goal square. The guy will kick a bag.

As for his mark against the Doggies in 2004, IMO that should've been mark of the year, but didn't even get mark of the week. I love Mooney's expression when he grabbed it too. It was like he was thinking "That was bloody awesome!"

Agree (not that we're biased or anything). For memory it was rated number 3 or 4. Reiwoltds almost identical mark was higher up. Anyway, as for Jimmys mark, you can actually see him run almost the length of where the ball was kicked from to the place where he marked it.

Yeah his came 4'th. I think you see Chris Grant Bomb it from one 50 m arc to the other and they zoom out and you can just see this geelong player sprinting down the middle looking at the ball the whole time. That's the jimmy for ya

don't think he is even in our leadership group is he ? if not he should be, he is generally the player who shows the most grit when our backs are against the walls.

It takes more than grit to be a leader. Bartel leads by example and thats fantastic, but not enough to be put in the leadership group IMO.

Well who knows, someone else may have bid again. But I couldn't really justify the whole amount of $300 really. Didn't think I could have auctioned it off around these parts and got even more for it. Reno would pay upwards of a grand for a night with Joshy I'd rekon.
