3 x Premierships
1 x Brownlow
1 x Norm Smith
2 x AA

These stats suggest you're up against it my friend. Overrated compared to your average Ablett perhaps?

The Norm Smith contributed to the purchase of some fine products around this NMFC member's house that year.

Had a broken bone in his foot for most of last year...

Hilariously terrible post. 2 stars.

Bartel is a real fan's footballer IMHO. Doesn't get 35 cheap possessions, but inevitably has a say in the result. Used as a Mr Fix It now by Chris Scott, who can rely on him to play any role other than ruck as required.
First assumed the "Mr Fixit" role in the 2009 GF. Selflessly sacrificed a high possession game to shut down the Saints best midfielder.

Bit of a myth that one.

Bartel was moved off Luke Ball who was beating him at the time. Ball to that point had the most disposals on the ground.

Hayes had 11 first 1/4 touches which was the highest on the ground up to that point.
Richter ain't having a good trolling day today.Really does need to head to Bay 13 and get a good pre-season of trolling in and making up useless stats.Perhaps his mate Podgey can train him.

Hayes was my drinking game midfielder, and I was looking doubtful to last the game at that rate. Thank you Jimmy!

Always seems to be the bloke on the end of it when big things happen at the end of games, never the bloke making it happen. Just sayin...
"Just sayin" what exactly? That Jimmy doesn't put his body on the line, gets cheap possessions, or what.

Yes Jimmy was on the end of a chain of possessions that resulted in Geelong beating Hawthorn by a point after the siren in 2009. Get over it. If some of your so called champions played with the same passion and endeavor as Jimmy you might have won another premiership since 2008.

Bartel is close to the most overrated player in the AFL.

Hasn't been in an AA side since 2008 & didn't even finish top 5 in Geelong's B&F in a year they finished 7th.

Regularly finished top 3 in Geelong's B&F in our premiership years though, which seems to suggest that his failure to finish in the top 5 last year was part of the reason we finished 7th.

Cameron Mooney got pinged for the exact same type tackle in 2010, which ended our season.

Lap it up norf. Was a free kick any day of the week. i wouldnt be blaming the ump for the loss, you squibbed a 41 point lead.

Got the ball rolling with an early goal in the 2007 GF... awww did i just ruin your theory or is this where you tell me a Grand Final isn't a big game?

just like 20 other similar incidents all day, but the whistle got pulled for THAT one.

Probably the same umpire who gave the head high to the Cats player who was bumped by the Cats player on the wing last quarter.
might have been the same umpire that missed thompson take a dive

as for bartel. gun footballer

It was a clear free kick, straight in the back...

i'm not sure if you were watching the game but Hayes was ripping it apart. and then he wasn't

Strange thread yes he is a gun but there were probably 10 players on the ground better than him yesterday. Chapman and stokes were geelong's matchwinners and deserve the plaudits.
