Hard to add to whatever is already said, what shattering news. For such a thing to happen to such a fine human being is so sad. There is no justice in the world, but Jimmy you can tough this one out.

Terrible news this is my first post here and i did not want it to be about something much larger than footy itself... i have idolised this great man since i was a young boy with the number 11 on my back not because he was a great footballer but an icon and true champion of life. Best of Luck Jim not a day will go by without me thinking of you..

Hey guys

Just posted it on the Melbourne board but thought you maybe interested.

Jimmy updated his Twitter page and states that they have discovered another tumour in his brain.

Shocking news, hopefully he can pull through aka Lance Armstrong who had the same thing.

So it was a tumour the first time also? If so this is very very bad news. They will most likely give him another dose of chemo but it will probably be the last time. The brain can only tolerate a certain amount of chemo before the risk of damage to the brain becomes too great. Miracles do happen and the cancer can go into remission for no apparant reason so lets hope he is one of those lucky people.

I've lost more family members to cancer than i care to remember, including my mother. God i hope they find a cure for it soon.

All the best Jimmah.

****, cancer wins another battle...

The battle isn't over, mate.

They gave my mother less than 3 months to live when she was diagnosed with cancer. She lasted another 13 years.

I have seen family members give up and die within 2 weeks of being diagnosed and i have witnessed people fight and live long lives.

Alot of it comes down to the will to survive. Everyone in my family thought my mother would outlive us because she had fought it for so long and always maintained it would never beat her.

One time after it flared up again she said to me "I don't want to fight this anymore. I've had enough" She was gone a week later.
