Great year, but needs to back it up.

He kicked a lot more traditional tall forward goals where he was good on the lead, in the air and even on the ground. He stood up in these areas on a more consistent basis. It's as simple as that imo. Wouldn't say it had a great deal to do with the defensive stuff.ok for arguments sake let's accept all of that.
how do you explain JJ's unprecedented lack of recognition from his coaches for his goals though? he's been 13/14th the last 2 years whilst kicking over a 100 goals combined in those 2 seasons.
he'll finish higher this year, I'm thinking he'll be about 6th/7th this year (all the injuries will hurt his competitors) on total votes and around 8/9/10 for average votes.

He's always been a fairly decent player and has been unfairly hammered by a lot of supporters because he's not instinctively aggressive.
That goals are important. His marking was also a highlight. Not sure what you’re trying to say here

There is no clear black and white evidence that says goals for him aren't what the coaches care about. He was still our leading goal kicker. How he kicked them is hard to quantify but imo he worked a lot harder for his tally this year. I don't think his year had much to do with tackling. I think you're searching for things to back up your previous arguments.Which the evidence clearly disagrees with

It seems I was quite ignorant to actually get into any sort of debate. Will not do that again. Think I've fallen for this trap before.Wilful ignorance is not an admirable trait
Still think his contract has negative value? Still prefer Josh Walker? Not sure what you’re trying to say here
Or Jack Watts.Still think his contract has negative value? Still prefer Josh Walker?

You're the manFFS.
The concepts here are very bloody simple and you’ve got no basis for such blind ignorance
Season 1 lots of goals = 14th
Season 2 lots of goals = 13th
Season 3 less goals more other stuff = 6th
I mean c’mon have some ******* dignity at least
Yeah, he's never been wrong in his own little mind.Lol, someone is digging to.Chins..
First of all JJ came 3rd in this year's BnF, not 6th.FFS.

To be fair I didn't recognise the bloke first time I saw him this year! You haven’t seen josh walker much recently have you?
First of all JJ came 3rd in this year's BnF, not 6th.
What the results of the BnF tells us, is that JJ has been remarkably consistent where he's around our 10th-15th best in the recent years. With injuries hitting us hard in the midfield (eg. Sloane, BCrouch), and up forward (Tex, Betts, McGovern), JJ and anyone who's playing regularly are bound to climb up the BnF rankings this year.
JJ coming in 3rd, in my opinion, is actually the coaches acknowledging that he has been consistently good, and he has kept the forward line functioning whilst every other forward has been crumbling around him.
This year actually explains more clearly the premise of the BnF - to get a good ranking, you need to play consistent footy and playing most weeks, AND relative to how others are performing. Injuries and form will drop you down the ladder, regardless of your importance to the team (eg. Sloane outside the top 10). JJ definitely still isn't our 3rd best player, but his importance and consistency this year reflects his result.
