I hope Buddy, Roughhead, Rioli and Williams tear Richmond's defence a new one.

However good old Wallet will just come out and say 'well the youngsters just had one bad game, no need to make any changes'.

**** you Wallet! I know you can hear me!

I feel your pain. If he's not playing this week, he's getting the arse from my team. That money can be better spent next week removing some of the West Coast turds (Waters/Nicoski) bringing my backline down.

LOL! Spartan you crack me up with your bowden tantrums! :p

I feel your pain in a different way though bro, I have the the spud of all spuds in my ruck division -

HAPPY GILMORE! :D

I am so pleased I moved Happy boy out of my rucks with about 4 hours to go- I was dragged kicking and screaming into Cox/Simmonds/Kreuzer/Meesen, and stopped screaming pretty quickly :)

As I have mentioned elsewhere, I did, however, pick Danyle Pearce and Shannon Hurn in my team, so I see your spud and raise it :o

I blame sheeds for telling me to get happy boy.

Sheeds could sell sand to the arabs, he was so convincing! The way he rambled on about how gilmore could play as a midfielder while not rucking had me sold and I thought it was a unique selection.

Unique selecton? More like f*ing ******ed selection! :p

I'm still torn on Bowden.
IF and I mean IF he plays, do I still keep him? The only good thing about him being out of the team is he's still got some value, so I can grab a good replacement/upgrade some other duds. My backline is sheizenhousen, so that cash would come in handy.

I'm just concerned that he's going to get back to good scores again and by the end of the season I'm going to want him back in again!

Anyone got some logical thoughts on the matter and/or a crystal ball?

A problem faced by many.

Stubborness results in the downfall of many a SC coach.

Wise move would have been to get rid of him as soon as he was dropped.

Then you could possibly pick him up on the cheap if he starts firing again.

I didn't drop him. I assumed he would return after 1 week, 2 weeks max especially if he rips it up in the VFL.

He has ripped it up in the VFL, but Wallet is being a ****head.

I can't trade him this week because I'm buying my tickets on the Buddy express red eye flight and the Kornes train.

So next week is the earliest.

As you've said, atleast sitting on the bench he hasn't lost value. However ~600k on the bench blows, replacing him for the less than SC score impressive Brown in my backline has robbed my of about 80 points a week for 2 weeks. This week makes 3 weeks.

If he doesn't get named next week I will be extremely tempted to drop him.

However I agree with something else you said, when he comes back he will play like his ass is on fire. Tackling like a mad man, running hard, etc etc.

My trade plan doesn't allow me to bring him back in...

So yeh.

I will sit on it this week and make a decision next week.

Btw Wallet has already said he will NOT play this week.

Traded Bowden last week for H Shaw who scored an unbelievable 28 points and dropped $29,100. Thanks Heath :thumbsd:

Nevermind, he'll be back this week in a big way! At least you have scratched your itch, even though it bled this week, it will heal. I'm still being bugged by the Bowden itch.

People on the Richmond board are talking retirement for bowden, i would cut my losses spart, i did last week and got peter burgoyne

Can't do it this week.

Plus on the bright side if he doesn't play he won't lose value.

Next week I'll be saying hello McLeod.

Bowden has been named in the team this week... if you traded him you'll regret it.

Lets not get carried away.

He has been named on the extended bench.

Wallet has already given strong indication that Bowden won't play this week.

However if he does... I will take back everything bad I have said about Wallet. :) :thumbsu:

Except when he plays, plays badly, scores low, loses 50k, Wallet realises he's better off playing the kids and drops him for the rest of the season.

Ok, I scared myself into it, Bowden is out the door. ;)

Hey he may not play this week but the fact his been named on the ext bench means his not far away. Historically he is a slow starter, once back in the side he will stay & score well. Keep the faith.

Glad I traded out Bowden as soon as I heard Wallace was thinking of dropping him. I traded Bowden for Chad Cornes and haven't looked back . .

Problem is I went with a stacked backline. Bradshaw was my weakest defender at the start of the season.

I have faith in Bowden. He will come good.

Spartan.

If you go to the Richmond board tomorrow about 2:15pm EST (15 minutes before the lockout), you should be able to get an update on whether he is playing VFL or not as Coburg are playing an ANZAC day game, which I'm 90% sure he will be.

You will then have time to make a trade if you feel the need.

Thanks for the info champ.

Won't be making the trade this week though.

Got bigger fish to fry.

Fingers crossed he plays. I still think you guys would have got over the line if you had Bowden down back last week.

Richmond peoples argument that they would not have been in that position if he was there is also fair enugh. You cant argue the facts mate, last week and the week before have probably been some of the best weeks in 2 years and the only significant changes are that Bowden is dropped. I dont understand y u want someone back desperately when ur team is doing a lot better without him.

If you think an entire side can turn around their performance because one guyis dropped, you're the delusional one. Come on. Its a 22 man game these days..

They have also made other changes to the side since he has been out, such as Richo being played up on the wing and Tambling finding the ball. Bringing Bowden back in may only make the team stronger. I highly doubt he'll make it weaker. You can't argue that because they have taken Bowden out the team is playing better. Who knows how the team would have played had they made these changes and still had Bowden in the side.

I'm also sure he's learnt his lesson the hard way and he has to get his tackle count up. And that can only help us Fantasy Coaches!

Not 100% sure but i got this coburg line up from http://oneeyed-richmond.com/forum//index.php?PHPSESSID=00c14ba52a5d822c5a099029e54520d4&topic=6979.0

B Bowden Silvester Oakley-Nicholls
HB Morris McGuane Robertson
C Howat Polo Hyde
HF Pettifer Pattison Morton
F Tivendale Hughes Graham
R Cartledge Jackson Shelton
Int Putt Gazzo Horne
Lynch Collins Cotchin
Casserly Carrick Liddle
Rayson Caruso Carnell

any1s guess really but some in the dt section said he had inside info that Bowden will line up for coburg this week

So I'm not keeping track - is this the third week he's missed (assuming he's not playing this weekend)? If so, how is holding onto him any more sensible than holding onto Hall until he comes back from his suspension? For all we know, Bowden might miss 5 or 6 weeks, or even more! I say just cut your losses now and move on, as everyone has done with Hall.
