Hi Melbourne board.

Just out of curiosity what is/has happened with John Meesen.

Is he still in contention for a spot in your 22? Why hasn't he played a game for your club as yet?

Would he theoretically have to touch the ball?

Or just run out?

Could contest one ruck duel at least. Even if he doesn't get the tap we'll get to see him fly high (!?)

I am a member of the Norwood Football Club where John Meesen played 36 games from 2005 to 2007 whilst on the Crows list. The same club Austin Wonaeamirri played for :)

At various times (especially the first season), John showed that he certainly had the ability to play football at AFL level. He did some very clever things.

However, as time progressed, he didn't. Whether it was through injury or otherwise, who knows? He just didn't seem to develop.

What really concerned me by the third season was his almost timid approach to the contest. He never imposed himself on a game like a big man should, and he seemed to lack genuine physicality. He really only got 2 games for the Crows in 2007 so other clubs could take notice of him for a trade.

Sorry to hear he's not working out, because when he first came to Norwood he looked a genuine player for the future.

Ha ha, yeah very funny so called Melbourne supporters. You might be taking the piss, but as long as he is wearing the red and blue jumper you should be supporting the guy.

Yes he has done bugger all to date, but he is retained on the list in 2009, so the club must see a future in him.

I hope that he proves the negative poster pea hearted supporters all wrong.

We certainly hope so.

For the record, i'm not negative - just couldn't resist the conga line.

And we were the only ones dumb enough to bite.

i think everyone is a little hard on meesen, when he gets a chance with the Dees he will prove everyone wrong. i know there is a good player inside him he just needs the chance to show it.
