Jon Hay FINALLY Dropped

After weeks of just pure embarrassment Big Jonno Hay has been dropped!!!

And what better way to give him a send off replacing him with teammate Jade Rawlings, also washed up from Hawthorn - can things get any worse??

In all honesty has played some good football this year for Tasmania could he bring anything to our team, does anyone feel Rawlings COULD turn it on, on a good day?? I'm hoping he hasn't been brought in to tackel Barry Hall

Was about to say something similar. He'd be lucky to make it back to AFL level after what I have seen of his form (which I will conceed isn't a great deal). The Kangas must be kicking themselves for doing that deal with the Hawks.

I really don't know what happened to Hay. When he was All-Australian he was a fantastic full back, attacking and positive. But that was 5 years ago and he has survived on reputation since. I was surprised the Hawks didn't de-list him at least 2 years ago, and even more surprised when another club picked him up. A genuine waste of talent.

i'm surprised he has never really been tested up forward. Hay is as big as Hall, Brown. It's just a matter of him being able to read the ball.

I really don't know what happened to Hay. When he was All-Australian he was a fantastic full back, attacking and positive. But that was 5 years ago and he has survived on reputation since. I was surprised the Hawks didn't de-list him at least 2 years ago, and even more surprised when another club picked him up. A genuine waste of talent.

It's actually sad, he should be in peak form at this stage of his career, he was one of my favorite players, years of injuries have taken their toll on his body and mind.

Like Worthy said, he was easily one of my favourites. I watched highlights of him in the 2001 earlier in the year on fox footy, I can't believe its the same player.

Thin, fit, so so quick, boots the ball over 50, even kicked a couple of goals. At his best he was a seriously seriously good fullback. Had injury problems after that and everyone just hoped he'd get back to that kinda form but he never did, and gradually got worse.

Sad for him, he's obviously got a few issues at the moment, hopefully he can turn it around.

Very low on confidence, knows he is the laughing stock of the AFL community, and doesnt feel like he belongs anymore. Feel sorry for the bloke, but thats the game. You dont last long in the system once the game passes you. This year will be his last unless we see some drastic, and unexpected changes.

Rawlings has been playing well. I certainly don't think he's past it like Hay, but has a bit to prove.

You got pick 14 from Port for Lonie plus your fourth round pick.

2 year contract is a huge risk? It is not like we offered him a 5 year contract like Simmonds.

He is still a reasonable full back, his disposal is just poor at the moment, no player has really kicked a lot of goals on him, he has just coughed the ball up at times and he needs to work on that.

He has done a good job on full forwards that have typically kicked massive bags of goals against us.
