This is to settle an argument between myself and a friend. Personally I think Jonathan Brown is the better player by a fair way, but I'll leave it up to the majority of BF to decide.

Being a lions supporter i may be viewed as a bias vote. Both players have been trouble by injuries during their careers but seem to be finding their feet in terms of their bodies. To me, Jonathan Brown is a better player in the air (marking), on the ground (clean possession off the ground), and a much better kick on goal. His leadership skills could also be seen as of a higher quality than Riewoldt's.

Brown is my favorite player in the comp, just the way he can open packs up taking a mark.
Brown>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Riewoldt

But dont get me wrong Rewoldt is still a class player but id rather Brown any day.

J. Brown ,and I'm a massive saints fan.
Brown's the best player in the comp, has that arrogant dominant swagger about him like a good mix of Plugger and Carey.
Rewoildt's an awesome player, but he doesn't take games by the scruff of the neck like Brown does. Fails to kick important goals.

When Browny wins his fourth B+F, ill listen...until then, Riewoldt all the way.
Browny has kicked 268 career goals, in a team that hasnt really had another key forward to take them off him.
Riewoldt has 255 in a team including duel coleman medalist, Gehrig.

Theyre both superstars, but Browns one good season (2007) shouldnt put him ahead of the super consistent gun, riewoldt

I've stated in other threads that Nick is a good solid CHF. He has a popular public profile due to the medias love for him. He takes a lot of marks up the ground and is very important to the saints.

History will know Nick Riewoldt as a good CHF.

Jonathan Brown will be known as a great player for the Lions. He's very impossing on the feild, loke at the size of him! Good set of hands and has a better kick than Reiwoldt.

I can't wait to see this guy play injury free over the next few years. Fullbacks nightmare!

oh, yeah, just forget about alastair lynch from 2000-2004... and daniel bradshaw from 2000-2006, no competition there at all :thumbsd:

I Voted Riewoldt. Brown is an Awesum player aswell

IMO Riewoldt has a better set of hands. Riewoldt better on the ground (can play on Wing aswell). Brown has kicked more goals because he plays closer to goal. They are both Courages. Riewoldt 4 B+F's, Brown ???? (not sure)

Riewoldt >> Brown >>>>> Pav >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Buddy

Umm... May have been a bit harder for JB to win B+F at the lions 2000-2003 period. they had a few reasonable players there if IRC:rolleyes:

Seasons 04-07 JB played 63 games with 184 goals @2.92 goals per game.
Riewoldt played 84 games with 202 goals @2.40 goals per game.

I think "super consistant gun" is a bit over the top for Reiwoldt. Good player. Jonathon Brown, Great player.

You gotta be kidding. Reiwoldt wins 4 b&fs. Big deal. Bet any money in the world he would swap for just 1 premiership. Brown is the best player in the comp by a fair margin.

I bet he would too, but Brown didnt single handedly win any of those premierships, so you cant compare Riewoldts B+F's to Browns premierships.

Gehrig > Lynch
Kosi > Bradshaw.

Gehrig > Lynch? you have got to be joking.

Kosi hasn't even played in the forward line for very long.

Gehrig > Lynch? God Lynch has got to be one of the most underated players of all time, he was an absolute champion, i'd take him over Gehrig anyday of the week.

Put simply ..

Premierships = Team Award
Best & Fairest = Individual Award

Cannot compare the two, pure stupidity.

Oh and Brown gets my vote.

I Voted Brown but i think Riewoldt is just behind him

Brown >> Riewoldt (Just) >> Pav >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Buddy

Brown>>>>>Pav>>Riewoldt. IMO, buddy will overtake Riewoldt and Pav by end of season 09. It is flattering for him as a 20 yo, 56 game player to be compared to them though:D.

I'd be dreamin at this stage if I thought he could threaten JB as the best F/CHF in the comp. We'll see.

Pav is better than Riewoldt....IMO.

Im not comparing the awards. Just proves that brown has played on the biggest stage and been a good performer which is something reiwoldt is yet to achieve.
