Here is hoping the blue tak, sticky tape and glue holds next year on his hammy’s. Have a feeling if fit, could compliment Mitchell, O’Meara and co in the midfield.

It looks like O'Rourke has been moved out of the middle to HBF in the VFL the past few weeks.

Do people think this is an indication his papers are stamped and we are now prioritising playing Worpel and Lovell more often through there at VFL level?

Or, is it an indication if he is to break into the AFL team it might be playing a HBF/Wing role?

Bit of both.

It might be saying to him that he's not a priority anymore as a midfielder, so if he can make himself valuable as a HBF, then he may yet etch out a career in AFL.

Time not on his side.

I'd say papers stamped. BHH give mid time preference to others. Jono is a good user of the ball he just refuses to use that skill and dishes off at first opportunity. When he does not have an easy option he looks good.

I’m a bit of a hindsight harry. Wonder who we could have potentially taken with the pick 18 we have away for JOR?

With all the shuffling of picks, we ended up with 43, which ended up with Adelaide who ended up with Mitch McGovern. Looking back at drafts is never a good idea!

it became pick 19
pick 19 - Blaine Boekhorst, there were about 10+ quality kids after that and pick 31 was Howe - but im happy we took the gamble, but as you know gambling doesnt always pay off...

Yeah this gamble has failed in hindsight, I was for giving up Pick 19 at the time but it just hasn't worked out.

Cant do much when someone is crippled by injury.

I wonder if they throw him a bone and rookie list him, or if he just disappears in to the ether at the end of the year.

I thought there was a chance he would be at Box Hill until after the Bye but he still isnt even making it to the Emergencies.

In a strong draft, I'd rather take a speculative pick on another rookie than keep with JOR. We desperately need to find some elite talent and gambling on a kid that is elite in a number of areas but below par in others, and hoping to fix those things, would make more sense for mine.

Will this draft really go as far as 100 solid players? There seems to be a crazy amount of hype, but does the genuine talent really go deeper than 30?

Afraid the match committee have stamped JOR's papers. He would need a Dallas Willsmore like miracle to stay on our list another year.

Still think we should've played him for 3-5 weeks straight in the AFL team just to see once and for all what he was capable of when healthy at the elite level, but I suppose his VFL form didn't justify it.

Jono is 24, has had a history of hamstring injuries and does not appear to be in Clarko's plans this year. Assuming the latter is correct it would be in the best interests of both parties to give him the opportunity to go elsewhere as a delisted free agent.

He was actually named emergency after Cegs pulled out

What miracle did Willsmore have? He was contracted to 2018.

Hawthorn was hoping for a miracle that he would be picked up by another club before Hawthorn had to take him as a rookie.
