Jordie Gysberts = Gun

Absolutely- his kicking skills/technique as such aren't in question. I think it's a confidence thing, he second guesses himself when he has the ball and skews some kicks.

I'm very confident his kicking will be a key feature of this game in the future, but for the moment he's sitting around the 55-60% efficiency rate which isn't brilliant. He'll move that up throughout the year and will be right up there for efficiency in future years. :thumbsu:

Happy to be wrong about the timelines here- 6 days later and 92% DE- keep it up Jordie you star :thumbsu:

The forgotten one our midfield it seems, at least to opposition supporters.

Jordie has the potential to be right up there with Scull and Trenners. That midfield with Gawn as ruck, throw in Jordie McKenzie....Jizz!

Probably his best game? Played as a follower from what I saw, and that's probably his best position. Still tends to fade out of games late, but that's easily fixed.

Yeh I would say it was his best game to date, fadeouts will (hopefully) become rarer and rarer with increased fitness through more pre seasons

Also once he has a proper midfield around him to lighten the load - Scully, Trengove, a match-fit McKenzie, an in-form Davey.

He is perfect.

Carlton are lucky they have a half-decent list because this trade is going to look pretty ugly for them in future years.

Absolute gun.

I remember saying 'WTF' out loud when his name was announced at pick 11. That's why you trust the recruiters.

I think most people said "WTF?" when we took him with pick 11. Our norm smith medallists will come from the 09 draft.

Its looking like an absolute diamond of a draft isn't it? Could be the greatest single grab bag of talent since.. ever.

IMO Gysberts looks like a prototype for the complete footballer. Only time will tell but he covers a lot of bases that you want in a player.

His hands are fantastics. one touch and his handballs are exceptional.

Gysbert, Mckenzie, Scully and Trengove.

First time these 4 have played together. Must stick together.

Actually I think they all played in last years QB draw.

Essendon was the second time they've played together.

The Undefeated Fab Four! ;)

Pretty sure Gysberts debuted the week after against the Cats, when we rested Scullgove.

He did debut the against the cats, but wasn't that before QB'day. I'm can't be bothered looking it up yet, but I remember Gys playing on Pendles for a bit and then going to full forward because he was injured.
