Would love to think so but reality is that he has been in the system now for 9 years. thats right 2009 will be his 10th season!!! He wont get any better than he already is!!!
you know i made this exact thread last year. and my answer was yes
however this year, there were signs of just how good a fit josh fraser can be. fraser at his best is still one of the most damaging ruckman in the afl, not necessarily in the ruck though... lol
so i say we have seen his best but just not often. looking forward to a firing fraser in 09
1st North Game?I forget which game it was this year but in one of Josh's better games I was really impressed with his field and ground work around the centre corridor (not ruck work) area and loved the way he looked first at the option of handball to a running player.
When he takes the ball and runs himself he is also one of the better big men in the game that can move fast and deliver the ball by foot and hit targets.
so i say we have seen his best but just not often. looking forward to a firing fraser in 09
His impact on a game can definitely improve.
If he can remain injury free, we will see his best.
Not better, but more consistent. He's been so destroyed by injury that I think most of us have forgotten what his best was like.
I agree. It's a matter of staying injury free to me.Those 4 quotes are spot on and sum it up for me. We are unlikely to see anything new or better but hopefully we see more good games more often.
Part of the reason he hasn't strung a lot of good games together of late is he always seems to get injured and he clearly seems to be one of those guys who struggle when not close to full fitness (or his injuries are much worse then we think and his a soilder just for being out there)
The other part of being more consistant is to stay more involved and have more of an impact.
Can be looked at in both ways.Have we seen the best of him?
He has to but won't.or can he improve?
Can be looked at in both ways.
Has he hit his peak? I think he has, 03 was by far his best year
Has he hit the heights we thought when drafted?
No, not by a long shot, in fact one of the worse number 1 picks IMO
He has to but won't.
What has he got going for him? a young ruckman that is still learning the game & a small ruckman who does some very dumb things and IMO should be played forward. He's got no reason to want to improve, they won't drop him, they want trade him and for some reason the coaching staff seem to rate the way he plays, even if it looks like he doesn't try.
