It's been covered everywhere else, AFL wouldn't allow us to delist Tippett until after the investigation, we need a certain number of spots free for the draft so we dropped a draftee from 2011 as they are only on 2 year contracts.

Haven't read too much into it but there was either some rule that you can't delist a player on your list while they're under AFL investigation or the AFL has just made an exception up for this Tippett case, anyway Joyce will probably get picked up by us at pick 100 - odd, or we'd rookie list him and pay him the same salary from this years contract (estimated around $60,000), shouldn't effect him too much bar having his name pop up in todays papers as the player the Crows "Had to drop"

That scum piece of shit Tippett, oxygen thief of the highest order, I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.

Im an optimist and I do think the crows will get joyce back.

But, what if someone else drafts him? They might get a good player, after all he was a rendell pick up, plus since he's contracted we pay his salary for a year.

What if he turns out to be a really good player, lets say, VB level for comparison, for another team, how much would we be spewing at tippett again in the future.

Poor bastard. Feel for him.

Like i mentioned in the other thread though, is he really that crucial to redraft?
If in the latter rounds there is a diamond in the rough Outside Mid and KPD surely they are better options for us then redrafting him.
Would rather try and get him back in the PSD or ND.

Not worth a thread on its own really.

It's simply because the AFL said that we couldn't at this time, when lists had to be finalised

Thanks for the quick, simple answer - I made a new thread because I am over reading any of the Tippett threads, because it is full of stuff like the following...

This thread is not about Tippett - Take your hate fueled bile to the Tippett thread(s) where the rest of plebs post with rancor -

You guys are straight up f*cking sad -

He had injury troubles but he was languishing in the SANFL ressies with the odd game in the seniors wasn't he. Doubt many would be interested unless they were really interested pre-draft last year.

This is the one glimmer of hope I'm hanging onto that we will receive some sort of compensation from this mess up.

The fact the AFL indicated to us not the trade him or that he wasn't allowed to be delisted, indicates to me that he will either have to stay on the Crows list for the 2013 season as he's been de-registered for that period or the AFL will allow GWS to sign him as an contracted player and we receive some sort of compensation.

If it was as simple as as the AFL not wanting him to sign with the Swans, I feel they would have allowed to he be delisted and then just said that he can not sign with the Swans.

0.00% he will play for the Crows again

5% we will receive something for him. I did say a glimmer.

I feel under the circumstances, the rest of the AFL community will back off and won't touch Nick Joyce until the Crows have had 1 chance to pick him up.

Either PSD or rookie draft, I think the rest of the AFL will do the right thing by the lad and allow him to remain with the Crows as that is the right thing to do. After that first opportunity has come and gone, he is fair game.

Joyce is a chance of being listed again by the Crows.

However, his being the unfortunate delisting because of this saga is completely wrong - the AFL are just as to blame & should have granted AFC an exemption, given Tippett is leaving - to protect Joyce - even if it meant a bigger penalty for AFC. WTF is common sense? AFLPA should be more angry over Joyce's treatment than Tippett's - as he is completely innocent!

The kid needs to silk up and start legal proceedings vs AFL .
Heh, why not? Every other mofo is getting on it. Wonder if Judd will challenge their latest brain fart of an idea???

Agree completely. And for no other reason than its the right thing to do. I understand Joyce loves the Crows and wants to stay. I'd be surprised if the other clubs didn't respect this and give us one chance to re-draft him.

I think it's more than a chance KG - its a near certainty. And agree - the AFL should have granted a temporary exemption at least until the Tippett situation is clarified. Nothing stopping an AFL-sanctioned list adjustment happening at a later date if needs be.

He'll be on our list next year but not due to the benevolence of other clubs. Lets face it if he was a great player they would snap him up, and for Adelaide to temporarily jettison him, he must be the lowest ranked player on the list.

I genuinely hope he guns it next year but he was a speculative pick from the heart by Rendell and hasn't done anything to dispel the thought at the time that he was taken too high and should have been rookied. Hope I'm wrong but suspect he'll be a footnote in years to come as the guy delisted for Tippet's sins.

Maybe a bit harsh given his lack of opportunity... hmn... but you might be right.
