Yeah, I've been on him from that first game too - even put him in my DT from the first round this year thinking that this was his year. Alas.
I was worried about his first few games for us this year, but after watching him towel Le Cras (who killed us last time we met the West Coke and looked to be firing up early), I'm preparing my DT contract for season 2009. I reckon he just needed game time at the top level to get his footy brain back in the right place.
I think he needs to work on his hand skills (swift pickups, one-twos, etc.), but his foot skills are right on and he is ultra-calm under pressure which is the sign of a bloody good footballer. This is one of the things I saw in Foley when he first came in for Cogs - always seemed to have space and cool under pressure. Now Polo doesn't seem to have that space gift, but the cool head and decision making are definately all there.
